Big adjustment to first break the habit of tossing toilet paper immediately into the toilet and then

secondly to eliminate the use of toilet paper at all, be reassured that it is possible and this country
has been operating toilet paper-free for generations. If you are feeling adventurous give this
method a try the next time you use the bathroom at home.
public toilets in particular are sources of stress and anxiety, not to mention a cesspool of germs.
Not exactly something to be proud of, our public comfort rooms are notorious for churning out
horror stories that will make your face crunch up in disgust.
Fortunately for us consumers, the Department of Tourism with the help of the Restroom
Association of the Philippines, government agencies (like the Department of Health, Department
of Education, Department of Interior and Local Government, among others) and private
companies has come out with a nationwide campaign to educate and improve Filipinos’ toilet
habits. Dubbed Toilethics and created by Comfort Ads, an ad agency that focuses mainly on non-
traditional ads, the advocacy campaign teaches proper toilet habits especially for public toilet
users and, in the process, improves tourism and public health.
Now, if you really find modern toilets too western-oriented what with the tissue and the "feet off
the toilet seat" policy in public toilets, at least try to adapt with it and follow the rules. If
everybody starts cleaning up their act, everything else will follow. If this toilethics campaign
creates such an impact on the public consciousness, then a dirty, smelly restroom will be a thing
of the past. In its place would be a gleaming, squeaky clean toilet. Only then can it deserve to be
called a "comfort room."
