Operation manual

This manual is written for the new operators. For those who are experienced operators some of
the information presented may serve as a refresher. Even if some features seem familiar, there are
often subtle differences between winches. All operators and maintenance persons who have reason
to drive the winch are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully.
This manual covers the daily operation of the winch, but do not purport to cover all details or
variation in equipment, or to provide for every possible contingency to be met during the operation
and maintenance. If further information is desired or if particular problems arise that are not
covered sufficiently for the purchaser’s purpose, the matter should be referred to
ZPMC.
This document contains proprietary information of ZPMC and is furnished to its customer solely
to assist that customer in the operation and/or maintenance of the equipment described. ZPMC
retains all intellectual property and other rights in or to the information contained herein, and such
information may only be used in connection with the operation of your cranes. This document shall
not be reproduced in whole or in part nor shall its contents be disclosed to any third party without the
written approval of ZPMC.

When winch is running don’t stand under tube shelf or stand at the front of
winch, make sure keeping distance around the device.
Check the brake make sure it is ok and the winch is not slip when you finished work.
If you lose electrical power, please return all controllers and switches to the off
position, and leave them there until control power is re-established.
Do not attempt to alter or make repairs to any devices or parts (electrical, mechanical, or
hydraulic), which are a part of the crane. It is dangerous to do so. Always call maintenance personnel
who are trained to make repairs.
Do not disable any warning or safety devices on the winch. If you believe that there is a
problem, always ask maintenance personnel to fix the problem at hand.
If you see an OUT OF ORDER or DO NOT OPERATE placard or sign anywhere on the winch, do not
remove it.
Maintain a log of important happenings during your shift on the crane. Share the information
with the next winch operator who will replace you, so he knows what he needs to watch for. Share
the information with winch maintenance so they are alert to any problems requiring immediate
attention, and know about problems which can be addressed during normal winch maintenance.
2. Personal safety
You should wear a hard hat at all times except when you are seated inside the cabin. You should
also wear steel toed safety shoes.
Safety procedures require persons on the ship and near the winch to stay out of your tube path,
so that there is never a person under the tube shelf. Always be alert and operate the winch
defensively. Instruct the person(s) to move out of the tube path.
In the event you have any symptoms of a heart attack, stroke, seizure or otherwise become ill
while operating the winch, please take defensive and prudent actions for you own health and well
being. Use the radio or intercom system in the operator’s cabin to call ground personnel and
anyone on the winch for help. Do not take any unnecessary risks.

When use low speed, the winch motor will with 750RPM speed running..
When use high speed, the winch motor will with 1500RPM speed running.
3.4.4 Control on
3.4.5 1#/Group up
When operator push this button under single mode, the green indicator lighted, indicate the
1#winch will run to hoist up the stinger with operator select speed, When operator push this button
under group mode, the green indicator lighted, indicate the 1#&2#winch will run to hoist up the
stinger with operator select speed.
3.4.8 2# up
Operator push this button only under single mode, the green indicator lighted, indicate the
2#winch will run to hoist up the stinger with operator select speed.
3.4.9 2# down
Operator push this button only under single mode, the green indicator lighted, indicate the
2#winch will run to hoist down the stinger with operator select speed.
3.4.10 2# stop
When the stinger up and down to appointed position under single mode, operator push this
button, the 2#stinger winch will stop. Certainly, the winches have several seconds ramp time. the red
indicator lighted, indicate the winch already stop.
3.4.13 Bypass
When operator control on, then hydraulic pump work, When operator control off, then hydraulic
pump stop.
When operator use radio controller, please reference to remote station control above it. Before
use the radio controller, please push the start button first in radio controller panel. More details,
please reference to HBC radio operating instructions.
Operator can know winch fault&alarm information and winch motor data on it.
Under group mode, Operator can know winches information and winch motor data in the
picture listed below.
Under single mode, Operator can know 1#winch information and 1#winch motor data in the
picture listed below.
Under single mode, Operator can know 2#winch information and 2#winch motor data in the
picture listed below.
Operator can know all winches fault&alarm informations in the picture listed below.
Don’t switch operate mode when winch is running, before switching operate mode you must
stop pump and make sure winch is control off.
Turn off winch (control off) when finished your work.
