It is a type of marketing campaign which is aimed
at retailers and wholesalers. This helps the
company to increase the final sales to the
customers. This is done in many ways like setting
up kiosks, posters and other creatives in the
shopping area.

Types of Trade Promotion

• Discounts – the number one type of trade


promotions run by any company is offering
discounts.

• Incentives to sales staff/Gifting – another


type is to give incentive to sales staff. The
sales staff also get very happy when awards
are announced and the staff will go to
achieve the target.

• Trade Allowances – a trade allowance is


when manufacturers retailers an allowance
or a refund on their products.

• Free Gifts – offering a free gift is a simple


strategy that gets people in the door. The
offer is combined with a purchase.

• Free Shipping for Online Sales – free


shipping makes online shopping more
attractive.

• Loyalty points – rewarding your customers


will help you build a solid base of loyal fans
and it will attractive people to shop more at
your online store
