COURSE SYLLABUS

I. Program: Bachelor of Science in Criminology


II. Course Title: Philippine History
III. Vision: Agoncillo College Inc. is an institution of learning that seeks to serve provide the youth with quality education.
ACI aims to produce competent, morally upright, and socially responsible individuals who respect the
environment and show love of God and country.
IV. Mission: Guided by our vision, Agoncillo College Inc. is committed to the pursuit of excellence by:
● Providing a learning environmental equitably accessible to all.
● Putting strength on the foundation of learning in consonance with the demand of time and preparation of
the youth for their future; and
● Promoting the general welfare of our people.
V. BS Crim Program Objectives:
Graduates of Criminology Programs are teachers who:
a. Teachers with the knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and skills they require to perform their tasks effectively in the
classroom, school and wider community.
b. The task of the teacher is to guide instruction and understanding the developmental characteristics of children
and to developed the skills of their students.
c. Have a deep understanding, critical thinking, demonstrating basic and higher level literacy and communication
numeracy.
VI. Course Description:
Philippine history from multiple perspective through the lens of selected primary sources coming from various
disciplines different genres. Students are given opportunities to analyze the authors background and main arguments,
compare, different points of view identify bases and examine the evidences presented in the document. The discussion
will tackle topics in the history and other interdisciplinary themes that will deepen and broaden their understanding of
Philippine Political, economic, cultural, social, scientific and religious history. Priority is given to primary materials that
could help students develop their analytical and communication skills. The end goal is to develop the historical and critical
consciousness of the students so that they will became versatile, articulate, broadminded, morally upright and responsible
citizens.
VII. Course Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to;
a. Students will be gather information about Philippine History marked by important events, places, dates and persons
forming the growth of societies and distinction of culture.
b. The students appreciate the accomplishment of fellow countrymen for the welfare of the nation.
c. The students realize and avoid the mistakes committee in the past to guide the present and prepare future.
d. Develop a sense of identity and pride in being a Filipino.
