“Utopia is Still Alive”

To President W, J and Mr. B

A Greater America in less than 2010 words, or 7 pages

Though the political system in the USA has in many ways ran off track

like an unstoppable runaway train, its overall premise is still viable.

Representation of the people’s will, balanced with oversight was the

original intent. Based on experience and history, our forefathers put

together a system they knew would not last forever and could

metamorphoses into something unrecognizable so careful

consideration was made when the building blocks of the government

were assembled. That was 200 hundred plus years ago, and everything

in this country since then has been overhauled except our political

system, i.e. government.

Sure there have been changes but the changes that are made reflect

partisan direction. Sure each side thinks that their ideas are good for

America, but we have been down the path of tax cuts for big business,

tax cuts for the people, programs to help big business and programs to

help people that are enacted and retracted every fours years enough

to know that until everyone is on the same page, this now-you-see-it-

now-you-don’t rollercoaster will continue affecting not only the

economy of this great nation, but the hearts and minds and very lives
of the American citizens. There are Americans who can fix this. They

have the intelligence to find solutions to the toughest problems and

maybe some of them are politicians now, but the system itself

prevents Americans from resolving the problems that continue to

weigh down our progress.

The American political future can all change for the better but we

cannot put our houses in order without organization and a clear plan

for clearing away the unproductive components of our political system,

i.e. government. There is much waste, much corruption and much

apathy that needs to be dealt with and here are some ideas:

• Base all elections on the popular vote and disassemble the

Electoral College

• Institute an American Political Party for a minimalist government

system

• Eliminate all political contributions, provide only equal internet

space for all candidates and require all politician income

statements appear on the internet for review

• Reduce All elections to one election, every two years for all

political positions

• Require all political candidates have a minimum of three years

public service in education, nursing or charities work

• Allow the current candidates to serve their terms through

December of 2011 and then have an election for one

representative for each state

• Eliminate future political retirement pensions and reduce current

pensions to match Social Security

• Disassemble the IRS and eliminate taxes

• Institute four sets of Income Statement based Infrastructure

Expense rate percentages for Big Business over $5M, Small

Business under $5M, Personal Income over $500K and Personal

Income under $500K

• Eliminate interest rate charges and replace with single time up

front loan fees only

• Return the USA to a collateral based monetary system (Gold or

something else)

• Overhaul the Social Security/Retirement/Pension Systems by

instituting a system that requires a partial payment from

government, the employers and the employee that is not based

on the stock market

• No war can be waged without a vote by the people (we pay for

the resources)

Why would these ideas possibly make a good start? Currently the voice

of the people in regards to representation has been replaced by a

“whoever-has-more-bodies-gets-more-representation” in the form of

Electoral Votes. This propagates the idea that larger groups of people

have more important lives than those living in less dense areas which

is not true. There is no reason with the technology that America

currently has, that the popular vote is not the decision making tool for

our political system.

If the American citizen needs political choices, than offer something

(other than the independent, Constitution and Tea Parties that only

offer old ideas) that allows Americans to join a group with the interest

of being an American at heart that can offer new ideas for making the

USA even better than it is.

The American citizen cannot and should not have to compete for

consideration by politicians based on money. Money will not be

required (except in small amounts) to provide internet space for

candidates to express their positions in written form. The American

public has a right to know where a candidate’s personal income is

originating from.

If candidates are productive they will be voted in again. If not, they will

not linger in the system. If the voting system is based on our own

computers or phones, voting every two years is not an expensive

hassle and can be increased. If things turn out for the best, the

American public can decide to decrease it based on popular vote.

If the political candidate has no personal experience working for

children, the sick or injured or the needy, then they have no basis for

representation of those who need the most representation.

No State of the Union is more important regardless of size. Each state

requires only one representative to provide the Federal Government

with the representation of their constituents. Each state could keep

their governor as the assistant to the representative who would

represent their state to other states.

No politician should receive a pension greater than social security. All

existing political pensions should be reduced to Social Security based

on years of actual working.

Americans were never supposed to be taxed. Let’s keep that premise.

We understand that the infrastructure of services must be maintained

to get to work and provide emergency services and we all agree a

share must be paid. The expenses do not need to “tax” the American

citizen to the poor house if every has an equal share.

The fight on who has to pay what can be removed. As an American

business person or individual you are either doing well or you are not

doing well. Agreement can be reached on the meaning of well (my

interpretation is shown in the outline) by popular vote so everyone is in

agreement. Or, if it will suffice, a flat tax can be agreed upon.

The only way we can become a nation of owners and not loaners is to

get rid of interest rates. Those currently living off of interest rates

making more than $500K per annum can adjust to a more normal

income. One time fees will allow for more commerce by greater

masses similar to mass production of the car.

Value has to be based on a physical object to keep the assessment of

value from dropping out and collapsing countries. The day is coming

when the world will only place value on paper money when it is

supported with physical properties. Prepare for a sound American now.

Let the American citizen help if they would like to.

America cannot be great if those who have served and worked are left

to live their golden years without dignity and respect. A life serving

deserves care by all. Americans are not helpless and can make
decisions for their future. They can contribute while working, opt to

work longer, but must at a minimum know they will not be discarded.

If we as Americans face the reality of having our children killed in war,

we as parents should have the right to vote against it. Some say war is

inevitable. Just like our political systems there are smarter ways to

handle bad situations, we just have to implement the smarter ways

versus using the old standby way of war.

The steps can be researched for projected beneficial and non-

beneficial impacts. They should be considered not just by our

government but by every citizen. Much like the behavior of our pets,

we are the reason why our government is in this situation. We have

allowed it to happen.

As Americans we are not required to love our neighbor and although

we are required to co-exist peacefully we typically do more than that,

we like our differences and appreciate when there is a contribution to

the community crock-pot and are willing to try the new flavors that

make our life so wonderful. As American’s we don’t all have to be rich

nor do we all want to be rich. We do however dislike seeing people

being treated unfairly, or cruelly, and we stick up for our family and

friends. We like to take responsibility for our own destinies and carve
out our futures without being told by our parents or the government

what we can do with our lives. That’s what makes us Americans and

that’s what makes America a real Utopia is the fact that right now and

hopefully forever, we will have those rights.

I am an American who does not care about a left or a right side

because I can protect my family and friends on both sides. I do not

care if my neighbor prays to Allah but I do pray they will care about me

as an American part of their family as I care about them being a part of

my American family. And if I am lucky we will share smiles while

breaking bread at our dinner tables and cry together when our children

are hurt or a loved one passes.

Americans want representation by their government, not taxation, or

dictation. We don’t need thousands of government officials fighting,

nor do we need them representing us when we have our own voices.

I am an American who know what the future will hold if we can make

the smart decisions for ourselves. If we cannot save ourselves then

how can we hope to help others?
