Why use a quiz or survey?
Surveys and quizzes can help you:
● Gain more insight into your user personas
● Help users feel more connected to your school

With our Quiz and Survey feature, you can:


● Ask for feedback
● Teach about your school/brand
● Entertain them with "What ____ are you?"-style quizzes
Types of Surveys/Quizzes
Which option is most beneficial to your campaign/efforts?

Gather information from my users


• What do you want to know about them? (ex: What is your
current occupation?)

Test my users’ knowledge


• Challenge alumni to answer questions about your institution
• Establish a passing or failing grade/point system

Create a “What kind are you?” category quiz


• An entertaining way to get an idea of user preferences

Building a Quiz/Survey
1) SocialToaster Dashboard > Features > Surveys & Quizzes

2) Add Survey or Quiz

3) Choose an option from the dropdown menu

4) Fill out Corresponding Fields


Using Images
Images aren’t required but useful to enhance your content!
• Sizing
• Depending on the image, we recommend specific dimensions for the best fit/look.
• Pop-up Background Images
• The pop-up will show as different sizes on different screens and devices, there really isn't one
size that we can recommend. Our suggestion is to find a small, subtle, repeatable pattern that
can go behind the survey questions.
• Multiple Choice Image as an Answer
• The multiple choice question answer images use a 200x200 square image.
• Image as a "Congrats" Message
• Our recommendation here is to use a 300x300px image for each answer. (these can be pngs or
gifs)
Utilizing Color

Fully customize your survey or quiz by using


brand colors for the:
• background
• text
• buttons
• button text

Select colors by using the color picker or directly


entering Hex color codes.
Types of Questions
• Multiple Choice- Radio
• Radio buttons will be displayed allowing 1 selection
• Multiple Choice- Dropdown
• A dropdown menu will be displayed allowing 1 selection
• Select Many
• Ability to select more than 1 answer
• Free Text
• A large field will be presented to allow users to enter free text
• Spotify Playlist Entry
• A small field will be presented to allow users to add a Spotify Playlist URL
• Media Upload
• There are 3 options to choose from: Images Only, Video Only, or Both
• Ranking
• Allows users to rank in order as well as delete an answer they don’t wish to rank
• Help Text
• Used to give information to the user instead of asking a question
Understanding the App Factory
Featuring a survey or quiz on your website

• SocialToaster Dashboard > Design > App


Factory
• Access the Homepage - Logged In

• Blocks > Add Block > Engagement > Survey


• Choose a survey from the dropdown menu
• Select preferred display options
• The size and placement of blocks can be
manipulated!
Send an Email - Reminders to your Fans

• Direct links for convenient sharing
• Offer incentives like prizes and/or points to encourage participation
• “Now through mm/dd, every fan that completes the {name of quiz/survey} will be
entered into a random drawing for a chance to win X, X, and X. X users will be
selected, so get your entry in now by completing the quiz/survey (link).”
Tracking Responses
• View individual responses or export as an Excel
Spreadsheet (.csv file)
• Filter by completion date and search for specific
responses by name or email address
