REQUIREMENT OF HIGHER AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

FOR THE JOB ASPIRANTS – A STUDY RELATED TO

MUKHYAMANTRI YUVA NESTHAM SCHEME
On 06-10-2018 Saturday field survey by the students of MBA final year

Under faculty supervision of

DR.N.SANTOSH RANGANATH
In the modern economy, competition for jobs is becoming increasingly rigid. It is now quite normal
to see how hundreds of recent college graduates struggling with each other for a few jobs.

If you are thinking about entering the institute, or are already studying in it, or have recently
graduated from it, then you should ask yourself what the level of education necessary for the job is
to be. Is the degree of junior specialist sufficient to get a job? Should I complete my studies after I
received a bachelor's degree? If you are trying to decide what kind of education you really need,
then read five reasons in favor of higher education:

1. Competition

According to statistics, fewer holders of higher education are looking for a job compared to high
school graduates. This means that the higher the level of your education, the less you will have
competitors in the labor market. You will have a better chance of getting a dream job when
competing with hundreds of other candidates.

2. Salary

It is clear that people or students with higher education can earn more money than without it. On
average, workers who previously studied for two years in college earn $ 8,000 a year more than
school leavers. Workers with a bachelor's degree earn almost $ 11,000 more than those with a
junior degree, and those with a master's degree earn about $ 9,000 more than bachelors. A graduate
of the school can earn about $ 27,000 per year on average, while a doctorate worker can earn about
$ 80,000. Obviously, the difference in income more than compensates for the costs of studying at
the university!

3. Availability of workplaces

Even at the height of the recession, university graduates had a much better chance of finding a job
than graduates of schools. The labor market is widely open to people who have graduated. You will
have more job offers after graduating from college than if you entered the labor market only with a
high school diploma. In fact, companies that just recently were more than happy to recruit
candidates directly from the school bench now require that applicants, at least, have a junior degree.

4. Saving jobs

With today's uncertainty in the labor market, it's not uncommon for a person to be on the verge of
being laid off after only a few months of work in the company. According to statistics, university
graduates are more likely to work in one company for a year or more, while school leavers may
become unemployed in the first year of their work. Most likely, this may be due to the fact that
school leavers have a better chance of being hired in a company that employs the "last come first-
out" method.
5. Development

If you work with only a secondary school certificate, you can hardly move up the career ladder. On
the other hand, if you have a higher education, or you receive it in parallel with the work, then there
is more chance of progress in your field. Most companies require that workers have academic
degrees in order to just consider promoting them in the service. Let's face it: few people will be
satisfied if a person retires from the company with the same position to which he was accepted!

The cost of higher education is constantly increasing, despite this spending on education will justify
itself in the future. The academic degree practically guarantees to you a wide choice of workplaces,
promotion, and an increase of the salary. Given all these advantages, should you receive the highest
possible degree of education?

The Importance of Education in Finding a Job

Slogging your way through your schoolwork is not always fun, and if you're racking up mountains of
student debt, you might find yourself wondering whether the work is worth it. But education plays a
key role in both finding and keeping a job and can open doors to higher-paying, more stimulating
and rewarding careers.

a) Jobs and Education

There is a direct correlation between the level of education you achieve and your likelihood of
finding a job. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in 2013 that, at each higher level of
education, the unemployment level drops. For example, people whose highest level of education
was graduating high school had an unemployment rate of 8.3 percent, while the unemployment rate
of college graduates was 4.5 percent.

b) Educational Requirements

Many jobs have minimum educational requirements, and without meeting these requirements, you
won't get an interview. The Georgetown Public Policy Institute emphasizes that employers are
increasingly requiring a college degree and estimates that by 2018, 60 percent of jobs will require a
bachelor's degree. Even if you already meet the minimum educational requirements for a job you
want, exceeding requirements -- particularly with advanced studies in a subject area related to your
field -- can make you a more attractive job candidate, increasing your likelihood of finding a job.

c) Improved Job Skills

Education isn't just a piece of paper. Time spent in high school, college or graduate school helps you
master both basic and advanced skills. The longer you spend in academia, the better your writing,
reading, comprehension and communication skills will become. Writing, research and classes can
also improve your computer skills, which are key in a competitive job market. You'll also become
accustomed to interacting with a wide variety of people. These social skills can serve you well in the
job search even if the job you want doesn't require a specific degree.

d) Opportunities for Advancement

After you've found a job, the benefits of education continue. Higher education may be a
requirement for promotions or for managerial positions, and if you continue your education, you'll
be eligible for these higher-paying, more prestigious jobs. If a job in your company opens up that's
specific to your college major, you'll probably be the most competitive candidate even if your
previous job had little to do with your major.
Yuva Nestham scheme a boon for jobless:

Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched the web portal
www.yuvanestham.ap.gov.in of the much-awaited Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestham scheme in the
Grievance Hall at his residence in Undavalli near here on Friday. The eligible unemployed youth can

According to an estimate, over 10 lakh unemployed youth in the State will benefit from the scheme.
Asserting that Yuva Nestham will be a historic scheme, he said the State government has evolved it

a bright career.

Stating that the scheme is aimed at benefiting the unemployed in all aspects, he said the
government brought convergence, including skill development, self-employment and apprenticeship
for youth empowerment. By launching a job portal, the State government will help youth in training
and placement.

All the benefits of Yuva Nestham, except unemployment dole, will be provided to others who are not
eligible for the scheme. Youngsters in the age group of 20 to 30 should be brought under a single
platform. Youth are succeeding in IT sector as they are well versed in both English and Mathematics,
he said.

education and placement. AP youth are getting highest per capita income in Silicon Valley.

Stating that the Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestham scheme will provide a platform for youth
empowerment, the Chief Minister advised them to focus on innovation for better career prospects.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh said

said Yuva Nestham will emerge as an ideal scheme in the country for youth empowerment.

Apart from providing a monthly dole of `1,000, the scheme is aimed at providing skill development,
self-employment opportunities and apprenticeship to youth through tie-up with various industries,
he said.

The scheme for the unemployed was launched in 10 States in the country earlier. It was wound up in
4 States. At present, the scheme is being implemented in 6 States for a limited number of
beneficiaries with a meagre monthly allowance of `500. The State government which came up with
the scheme after a thorough study by a group of ministers, has to spend `1,200 crore for its
implementation per annum.
