Specification of the weighing instrument

1.1) Standard of the material used for making the weighing instrument :
1.1.1 Its body and all commponents must be made of metal or herdened and tempered
steel.
1.1.2 Its beams must be made of hardened and food steel or alloy steel.
1.1.3 Its kuife-edges and bearings must be made of hardening steel or stainless steel.
1.1.4 Its load receprtrs of the goods being weighed must be made of metal plated or
costed with auti-corrosive material

1.2 Characteristics of the instrument :

1.2.1 Upper part of the lower beam has scal marks to show weight values from 0 to 5 kg.
The scale spacing is 3.5 cm’ and each indicates wight valve of 0.5 kg. Gradually.
Lower paart of the berm has scale marks to show percent value of filthiness from
0 to % The scale spacing is 3.5 mm. And each indicateds percent value of 1%
gradnally. The scale mark at 60% must be coincided with the scale mark at 2
kg.
1.2.2 uPPer part of the upper beam has scale maarks to show weight values from 0 to
750 g. The scale spacing is 1 cm. And each indicates weight value of 10 kg.
Gradnally. Lower part of the beam has scale merks to show percent valuw of
starch from 10 % to 34 % The scale spacing is 1.95 mm. And each indicates
percent value of 0.1 % gradnally. The scale mark at 10 % must be coincided with
the scale mark at 280 g. and the scale mark at 30 % must be coincided with the
scale mark at 670 g.
1.2.3 There are 2 knife-edges. I.e. one is fixed to the lower beam which has falerum
point at its shorter side and the other is the hanger of losd receptors.
1.2.4 There are 2 sliding poises on both beams to specigy weight value and percent of
starch
12.5 there are 2 load receptors suspended consechtively in the way that water can flow
through simply and the receptors cannot be detached from each other.
1.2.6 There is an adjusting device located near the head of the lower beam
2

1.2.7 There are two adjusting needles, i.e. one is fixed permanently at the middle of the
holder of the upper and lower beams and the other is faxtened with the prtallel
steel which forces the end of beams continuously to the base of the instrument
1.2.8 There is a levelling indicator fixed to the body of the instrument.

Remark

The upper receptor is used for goods weighed in air to determine weight and
percent values of filthiness. The lower receptor is used for geesd weighed in water to determine
weight and percent valus of starch. During the operation, it must be leveled, If the swing takes
place, it must be proporttional both of the upper and lower levels.

2. Expression of marks

2.1 Capacity
2.2 Private mark
2.3 Serial number

Remark

The private mark and serial number of the instrument must be stamped, seraped,
or engraved at the end of beams, at the base of instrument, and at the receptors.

3. Verification

3.1 Inspection of general conditions

3.1.1 the instrument must be clean and tidy
3.1.2 Adjusting device must be inspected and adjusted by moving the sliding poises of
both beams to the scale mark of zero. The adjusting needles must coindice with
each other and the beams are motionless in level (in balance)
3.2 Inspection of sensitivity of the instrument at one fifth of its espacity.
3.2.1 Putting weight of one fifth of eapacity of the instrument in the receptor, sliding its
poise to the scale mark of its eapacity, and then re-sliding its poise to the scale
mark of one fifth of its capacity. When the instrument is in balsnce as 3.1.2
3

putting weight of not greater than oun two-hundredth of weight being use in the
receptor and the beam must displace from the balance (in level)
3.2.2 Inspecting the sensitivity at its capacity by cjonducting the procedure as 3.2.1 but
putting weight of its eapacity in the receptor insteal, When the instrument is in
balance, putting weight of not greater than oun five-hundredth of weight being
used in the receptor and the beam must displace form the balance.
3.3 Inspection of the perdormance of the instrument.
3.3.1 Inspecting the performmance of the upper beam at the weights of 10 g., 30 g., 50
g., ….., 750 g. by which the weights from 50 g. to 750 g. will be put on weight of
50 g. each time.
3.3.2 Inspecting the performance of the lower beam at the weights ranging from 0.25 kg.
to wards 5 kg. by putting on weight of 0.5 kg. each time
When inspecting the performance of the instrument at which weight value the
standard weight being equal to that weights value must be put into the receptor
and the sliding poise will be displaced to the scale mark at that weight. If the
initial value is read in balance, ilel both adjusting needles coincide with each other
and the beams are in level, it is shown that the instrument is correct.
If the instrument is in unbalance, weight of not greater than maximum permisible
errors preseribed for in each weight being inspected shall be put into or put off the
receptor. If the increase or dicrease of such weight is done and the beam is still in
balance, it is shown that the instrument is correct. If the weight less than or equal
to one fifth of its capacity is inspected, the maximum permissible errors shall be
not greater than on two-hundredth of that weight, If the weight greater than one
fifth of its capacity is inspected, the maximum permissible errors shall be equal to
one five-hunderdth of that weight.

4. verification mark and certificate

When the inspection is completed and it is found that the instrument is correct,
the verification mark will be stemped on the instrument and the verfication certificate will be
issued for such instrument and the serial number, private mark, and capacity of the instrument
must be coincided with those of the verification certificate
