All of us have hobbies. We learned, we experience, we try to unwind and leave
all the negative vibes by doing our hobbies or past time. One of my favorite hobbies is
playing Volleyball.

Volleyball is a team sports which two teams of six players are separated by a net.
Each team tries to score points by grounding the ball on the other team’s court under
organized rules. William G. Morgan invented volleyball in 1895. It was designed as an
indoor sport for businessmen who found the new game of basketball too vigorous.
Mintonette is the original name of Volleyball until it was called by the professor from
Springfield College in Massachusettes noted that the true nature of playing volleyball,

When I started playing volleyball? Back then, our family is not engaged in playing
sports other than basketball. Apparently, I discover myself playing volleyball in grade 4
during our intramurals. I was the co-captain of our team that time. I was determined and
followed what I have started. So I decided to have a formal training which is I have
attended the tryouts in our school. At first, I was less focus that time and have
nervousness to play because all of my batch mates are good. But I did not give up, I
gave all my myself and embrace my passion. And yes! My coach chose me to be part of
our school volleyball mens team. I became a setter and sometimes I’m a libero. The
setter is the one who get the second ball and set to the spikers while libero is the one
who guards and sweeps the ball to prevent the ball touches the ground.

In playing volleyball, I met many different people. These people was also my
lessons, because they push me to who am I right now. Thankful to them because they
not give up to me and they help me to improve my weakness as player and as a human
being. I believe in the saying “experience is the best teacher”, experience mold me to be
a better person.

One of the reasons why I am playing volleyball is to cure my asthma. When I was
a kid, I was that person who easily gets sick. We back and forth to the hospital because
of my sickness. I remember that I spew some blood and because of that, my body
weakens. However, after I tried to play volleyball, my sickness gradually fade away.

I have accomplished my mission in volleyball, I received multi awards way back

then. I became the MVP in our intramurals. But this is just a bonus, a true winner is not
just receiving an award. Winner takes experience and most especially takes
camaraderie with his/her allies and his/her opponents.

One of the lessons that I have learned in playing volleyball is never give up on
your dreams. There is always a failure situation, it’s up you on how you handle that
situation and convert it into a lessons. Never give up in your passion, practice! Practice!
And more practice! Because practice does not make you perfect but makes you
stronger.
