Problem Statement

How can Mit scale up CycloMeet without compromising the basic nature of the organization?
Can he meet the growing demand or should he stick to the current size?

Analysis

As, the case begins the problem seen here is the increasing batch issue(expansation problem),
people in various geography and (The Camaraderie) issue and all of this can be covered
below the HR issue beneath the department of the organization if seen in that way. And most
importantly the basic nature of organization that is to promote fitness as raison d'être.

However, further Mit can be seen seeking advice for the expansation and management of the
group or an organization as a whole to which a business strategy can be formed.

Strategy
A company or a fitness hub has to be formed Named as “HEALTH PEDDLERS” (for a
person seeking healthy life as a drug and promoting the HEALTHY PADDLING sport of
cycling)

VISION AND MISSION of the organization/community- To promote fitness,socialize,and


reach the dedicated goal of a healthy and fit life.

A concept of ‘DUNBARS NUMBER’ has been used in the case where it can be seen/related
that a maximum number of people to survive as a group is 150 and can affect the
organization if expanded which directly links it to as an HR Issue.
The first important thing is to have the same aspirations and expectations of all the group in
personal as different expectations can mess things up.Further greater the organization greater
would be the difficulty to manage and expand among different zone or geography as people
in the metropolitan are motivated and driven to join the club or be a part of the
community.Also being a non-profit organization there are various verticals to be looked for
and to plan a meet or an cycling event to which people can participate.

The Marketing:-As india being a country of various culture and tradition the cycling event
can be organised at public or national holidays further a limit of X days is to be formed to
burn Y number of calories in the entire year.Keeping all this in mind the Marketing team of
the organization has to advertise it using facebook and instagram handles and by emails and
SMS.Moreover a google document form must be formed to receive the confirmation of the
participants.All this to be done by Mit’s friends through which he got the recognition as the
are the “STAKEHOLDERS” of the organization now.

IT and Technology:- The IT and technology would require a member from the entire group
having a good skill and knowledge about the excelsheets,google forms,and having an
expertise to communicate all the feedback to Mit and/or a Team leader and all the other
members participating in the meet.

The Finance:- Being a not for profit organization the finance would not be much required but
a minimal finance requirement will be needed to meet expenses like providing Tshirts
arranging waters and energy drink during the cyclomeet also providing medals and
appreciation yearly to the members based on the criteria decided.For eg:- medals and price to
the member who burned more than Y number of calories to achieve his/her personal
target.All this would require finance which can be sponsored by any fitness oriented or any
health product company.

The HR:- As the entire case study is based on the problems related to the HR part the HR
team must be formed by Mit with the one having the same Mission and Vision. His friends
who were trained under him can play a pivotal role in being the HR of the organization.As
the HR department is one of the important fragement of the organization it must be always
motivated and driven should support Mit in regulating his decisions.This here also Highlights
the problem of (expanding in different zones in the outskirts of delhi or possibly in various
cities) where Mit’s friend would go to organize the event and represent Them on the behalf of
Mit. Conducting the event all over in a single day as looking at the “brand value” his
organization has could be possible also the camaraderie issue would be resolved as everyone
will get a chance to socialize in the group and with representative.

And Finally,
The Operations:- The operations would be handled by Mit himself as the main task of the
operations would be freezing the event date and time.Permission by the authority as (Traffic
issues) would be concerned(However being a holiday not much traffic conditions would
affect the event),Paying the fees if required for permission which would be covered under the
sponsorship to make it cost effective, providing first aid for an unpredictable injury to a
member,looking after the arrangements on the cyclomeet day.

Following the above requirements revolving around various verticals of management will
probably help Mit to expand the organization and make a cycling community spread over
different zone with a similar vision and mission promoted by him.
