Behavioural Planner

A bit about us Total Media is a leading independent and international media agency that
connects people to brands. Our media strategies are based on people’s
behaviours – understanding how audiences think, feel and act – so that we reach
them contextually, during the moments that matter.
We work across the full spectrum of media planning and buying, with fantastic
media teams dedicated to client servicing, broadcast, publishing, digital, data and
content production.

Investec, the Arcadia Group, Carabao and Rustlers.

The role This role is an exciting opportunity to work within our Strategy team as a
Behavioural Planner.

The successful candidate will combine up to date media knowledge with


behaviour focussed research to help develop behavioural insights and media
strategies that will sit at the heart of client’s media plans.

The candidate should have experience building consumer led insight that feeds
directly into media or creative strategies for brands, and an understanding, or
deep desire to learn about, the latest developments in behavioural science
research and advertising effectiveness.

The role requires someone with incurable curiosity, an ability to draw together
information from multiple disciplines, and big picture thinking.

Key responsibilities • Building behaviourally based insights and strategic thinking across a range of
Total Media’s clients and for new business. Ensuring these behavioural
insights and solutions sit at the heart of the media strategy and media plan.

• The selected individual would be the planner on most of their allocated


accounts and would be expected to work independently and confidently with
senior clients and senior creative agencies’ contacts.

(neuroscience, behavioural economics, social psychology) and how it relates

• Assisting with the training and coaching of our client service and activation
teams to apply behavioural thinking on their accounts. This will include
running trainings and organising training resources.
Meet the hiring manager
Will leads behavioural planning at Total Media helping develop the behavioural planning
proposition and ensuring behavioural insights sit at the heart of all our clients strategies. Before
joining Total Media Will worked for Blue449, where he oversaw their Insight and Analytics
department Source, helping develop consumers insight across a large range of clients. Prior to
joining Blue 449 he worked with Rory Sutherland during his IPA presidency to deliver his
behavioural economics agenda. He is passionate about the developing worlds of neuroscience,
behavioural economics and data analytics, and transforming the insights of these disciplines into

Life at Total Media

Total Media employs over 100 people: here we are at one of our annual

The office

Our beautifully bright London Office is situated right next to High Street
Kensington tube station, as well as being a stone’s throw from leafy Hyde
Park. We have another office, Total Media Connect, located in Solihull.
