Database Lesson Plan

Grade Level: 9 Subject: Algebra Date/Time: 47 minutes

Overview & Purpose (What will be

learned and why it is useful.) Students will be connecting theories and concepts that they have been studying in their math classes and
conduct research on mathematicians that developed or inspired that work. Researching these mathematicians
connects to other areas of studies in their other classes and in the real world. Students will be researching the
time that the mathematicians were born and what their nationality is. These time periods and global locations
has connections between their History and English classes. In this lesson, students will be working on their
research skills as well as their technological skills. Being able to execute both abilities is extremely
important for students that will help them in their academic careers. Demonstrating both skills in this lesson
activity will also give students the opportunity to practice and demonstrate their reading and writing skills in
relation to math.
