REPORT WRITING
Since our family are into media in different aspects, its's easy for me to ask them what information do they
usually need and how they did get it and lastly, how sure they are if that specific information is accurate.
I asked some of my family members who uses different media. They use media to at least find the info’s they
need. The old ones use traditional media. They gather information through newspaper, radio, magazine and television.
My grandpa remains using traditional media ‘cause when it comes to news, he believes that traditional media is still the
most trusted source for information. Sometimes we encourage him to use digital devices for him to be discover news
using the new media which includes Facebook and other social media. But still, he's not convinced to use it because as
we all know, fake news has widespread specially to social media. I also gather information to my cousin. At the young
age, she's so into media. She uses new media in her everyday life in news, updates, music, mv's or whatever trend we
have. There she gathers information she needs. She easily believes to what she has seen. From then, she's once a victim
of fake news. She shares a lot of articles or news without knowing that more often or not, the source she shares is not
reliable. Since I have already idea about media, I share it with her. Since then, she deeply thinks before she shares.
In all media forms like newspaper, television, and computer software, mobile devices, we must always
remember that when it comes to information, we must be so sure if the information we gather has it's reliable sources
and efficient to use ‘cause we might also share it to other people. Everyone will directly or indirectly use the services of
media in their daily life, all we can do is to use it in a right and effective way.
