Organizational Values, Vision & Mission Statements

The McFly is the revolutionary and first of its kind to
surface in the technological world. The McFly is none
other than a hoverboard. But unlike its’ competitors who
have claimed to be a hoverboard. The redeeming quality
of flight is achieved in this novelty. As an organization, our
mission statement is to create a world where exploration,
transportation, and fun are interconnected to raise the
standard for new technology. Additionally, as a
corporation the McFly’s vision statement is to revamp transportation. The McFly
ensures that through this new platform of transportation we will now have access to the
reduction of automobile trafficking, a new environmentally friendly alternative to
transportation, a safer form of mobility and more efficient spacing for transportation.
With the McFly our goal is to have less people on the road, therefore more people on the
McFly reducing one of two things, the first being the heavy congestion on the road that
is in result of rush hour or that of any time of day in a largely populated city. And
secondly by reducing the amount of cars on the road, and rather dispersing
transportation, we hope to bring about a less hostile and thus safer platform of mobility.
Additionally, by creating a smaller and more portable object for transportation the need
for high end parking structures and services will reduce and leave behind a smaller and
more efficient form of spacing for not only the hoverboard, but everyone else who
struggles to find a parking space for their large modes of transportation.

Management Philosophy

Here at McFly we motivate our employees by reminding them they are here for a
purpose. We believe that people are motivated by having purpose in their work and that
a culture works best when people receive positive feedback and recognition for a job
well done. Therefore, exemplifying a theory Y approach. Despite your position in our
company, we are all driven toward the same purpose. That purpose being, the creation
of a more sustainable and efficient tomorrow. With the
McFly we shed a new light to the usability of technology.
With it being the first of it’s kind we hope to inspire
others to think bigger than they have ever before. As
many before us, we were told we couldn’t do it. Yet with
just a few people believing in each other we were able to
create what we have today. Within our organization we

entice imagination. We support one another when any form of success is completed. I
would even go as far as to say that we almost encourage failure. Failure in our culture is
not taboo but rather a stepping stone to our journey of creating the revolutionary
hoverboard we have now. From the bottom up or our organization we believe in
recognition. Each member of our team matters in one way or another, because we are
driven by the not only the support of each other but the willingness to constantly be
better than we were the day before. By upholding this type
of culture we hope to attract the same type of caliber of
people that can help McFly soar into the future. We
maintain this culture by keeping a close relationships to our
customers and to the head executives of our company. The
CEO of McFly tries their personal best to keep up and
familiarized with their associates. Our organization believes
that good cultures are the ones where trust exists, and
genuine care by a CEO builds trust. Additionally, at McFly we encourage those who
personally interact with the customers to withhold a relationship, for further purposes or
to refer for any questions. More practically we also hold our very own Dundies or rather
“Fly Awards” to recognize the diligence and hard work of our employees.

Employee Evaluation Schedule

Employee Evaluations are to be conducted quarterly, by their respective manager. Every
fourth evaluation (once a year) the person who conducts the evaluation will sit down
with the employee to go into great detail about what is working well, and what could be
improved. The other 3 evaluations are meant to measure performance so the employee
knows where he/she is at at any given time.

As for the top-tier managers, those are to be performed by both the CEO, as well as
some of the employees that report to him/her. This is to ensure a well-rounded view of
the employee to give an accurate representation of how they are performing.

Logic Model Explained

Starting with our inputs, we have to put in things like time, money, research and
technological advancements. Once we have these inputs taken care of, we will start
working towards our goals. To get the product into the hands of the customers, we need
to properly market the product, which includes setting up vendor booths, along with
15

having a distribution center that will quickly deliver the product to the customer. At
these vendor booths, as well as in our storefront, we will offer demonstrations to
potential customers. Due to the fact that the McFly is such a new, fun, and efficient
mode of transportation, we are confident that our customers will opt to ride our
hoverboards more often than driving their cars (mid-length outcome). With less people
driving cars, this will, help to reduce traffic congestion on major roadways. Overtime,
and assuming that this trend continues to grow, there will be reduced automobile
caused pollution in the air.

Evaluation Plan

Here at McFly Hoverboards, we have big goals. Not only are we trying to bring the future
directly to you, we are attempting to do this in the most sustainable way possible. Our
major goals are to reduce traffic congestion by taking cars off of the road, and
consequently, reducing the amount of automobile caused pollution. These will not be
easy goals to achieve, however we do not need easy, we just need doable, and this is
where the McFly comes in. As more and more people purchase the McFly, giving them
an alternate and fun method of transportation, this will begin to draw cars off of the
road, thus, getting us one step closer to achieving our goals. To evaluate whether the
McFly actually has had an effect on traffic patterns and pollution rates, we will compare
data from subsequent years to that of current conditions from our launch date. Because
these goals will take time to become noticable, we will evaluate every 6 months. For our
shorter term goals, such as increasing sales numbers, and a growing recognition, these
will be much easier to evaluate. We will be able to, at an instant, look at our sales
numbers and see how close we are to reaching our goals. To make sure we are on track
of our goals, we will evaluate bi-weekly. Finally, to ensure our product becomes known
world wide, our marketing staff will be of the highest caliber.

Facility Description

McFly Hoverboards utilizes a variety of different facilities throughout the United States.
Our executive offices are located in Hill Valley, California, but our largest facility is
located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This facility is the home of our western distribution
center, but also includes a retail storefront, and regional offices. At over 300,000 square
feet, this facility offers ample space to accommodate the current needs of McFly
Hoverboards.
In order to accommodate the constant inflow and outflow of our inventory this
warehouse facility has a large Shipping/Receiving department which consists of a large
loading dock, space for packaging material storage, a small office, and room for pallets
of product to be processed and sorted for replenishment and order fulfillment. This area
of the facility is directly connected to our product backstock warehouse which allows
easy access to inventory with a pallet-jack or forklift. The backstock warehouse will
connect directly to the office area and will have easy, employee-only access to the
storefront area.
18

For safety reasons, closed-toe footwear will be required at all times for employees
accessing either the backstock warehouse or the loading dock. Closed-toe footwear will
not be required in retail and office areas.

Workplace Inspections

Safety in all areas of our facilities is of utmost importance, which is why McFly performs
rigorous inspections of all work areas at regular intervals. If at any time you notice an
unsafe work environment, accident/injury, or unsafe working procedures you must
inform your supervisor immediately.
In an attempt to keep our employees and their workplaces safe, McFly Hoverboards
reserves the right to inspect any of the following, at any time;
● Offices and other work spaces
● Computers and other company issued electronic devices
● Company issued vehicles
● Employee personal items on McFly Hoverboards premises, including; handbags,
backpacks, briefcases, vehicles, etc.
All inspections are considered compulsory, if you choose to not participate in an
inspection you may be asked to leave the premises. Various inspections of all work
areas will be performed daily, weekly, quarterly, and annually and are divided as follows:

handbook.

Crisis Management and Emergency Response

Emergencies may present themselves at any time, which is why it’s so critical to be well
prepared for a variety of different situations. The environment in which every employee
at McFly Hoverboards works has inherent risks. For example, the retail sales floor of our
Salt Lake City facility has an area where customers can test our hoverboards, and where
Customer Service Representatives can show off their hoverboarding skills. In this area
the risk of injury due to falls is quite high, which is why each customer who wishes to
demo one of our hoverboards is required to complete and sign the “Waiver and Release
of Liability” before participating. If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent or
legal guardian must sign on their behalf. All participants, regardless of employment
status with McFly Hoverboards, are required to wear a helmet at all times while inside
the hoverboard testing area, and while riding hoverboards at community events. All
hoverboard tests will be observed by a non-participating Customer Service
Representative.
In the event an injury does occur, the Customer Service Representative observing the
demonstration will determine if Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are required and will
immediately notify a member of the management team. The responding manager will
complete the “Incident Report” with the individual who was injured and will personally
be responsible for following up with the individual if it is deemed necessary.
Additionally, the responding manager will be responsible for notifying Jennifer Parker,
the Outreach Coordinator, of the incident and submitting a copy of the Incident Report
to them for review. Jennifer is responsible for all media relations and can be reached at
jennparker@mcflyhoverboards.com.

Copies of the “Waiver and Release of Liability” and “Incident Report” documents can be
found at the end of this document.

anybody, regardless of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, or disability.
In regards to employment, equal opportunity must be availed at every point and turn,
including hiring, job placement, promotion, compensation, bonuses, leave of absence,
vacation time, and termination. Discrimination in any of the above criteria against
anybody for reasons listed above is strictly prohibited, and may be punished by
disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Workplace Harassment and Discrimination
As all people are afforded equal opportunity at McFly Hoverboards, the same
principles apply to our workplace. We strive to maintain a workplace free of
discrimination and harassment of any kind. This extends to all levels of our company,
and covers all forms of harassment, chiefly verbal, physical, and visual.

● Inappropriate Jokes
● Innuendos
● Slurs
Examples of Physical Harassment
● Pushing
● Shoving

Examples of Visual Harassment
● Inappropriate cartoons
● Leering
● Inappropriate Gestures

Sexual Harassment and a Hostile Work Environment
Sexual Harassment is strictly prohibited alongside all other forms of harassment
at McFly Hoverboards. Among all other types of harassment, sexual harassment is
most likely to be the cause of a hostile work environment. A hostile work environment is
when the level of harassment rises to the point where completing normal work is not
feasible. It is important to note that one single incident is enough to create a hostile
work environment. The most important part to remember about Sexual Harassment is
21

that intent does not matter. Regardless of your intent, if your actions have unintended
consequences, you will be held accountable.

Reporting and Termination Policy
McFly Hoverboards has a strict no retaliation policy, meaning that there can be
no consequences towards any person who steps forward with a report in good faith. It
is expected of all employees to come forward with anything that they are aware of
breaking organizational policies. For instances where an employee may not feel
comfortable reporting a situation or incident to their manager, anonymous reports may
be made through Lighthouse Reporting Services. In the case of a report, the accused
will be placed on a paid leave of absence while an investigation is conducted, and a
decision is made as to what, if any, punishment is suitable. False reports are judged
harshly, with the intent of creating a company where integrity comes first.
