1. A broadcast transmitter radiates 10KW when the modulation percentage is 60. How
much of this is carrier power?
2. When the modulation percentage is 75, an Am transmitter produces 10KW. How much of
this is carrier power? What could be the percentage power saving if the carrier and one of
the sideband were suppressed before transmission took place.

10. The antenna current of an AM broadcast transmitter, modulated to a depth of 40% by an
audio sine wave is 11A. it increases to 12A as a result of sinusoidal modulation by
another audio sine wave. What is the modulation index due to second wave?
11. A complex modulating wave consisting of a sine wave of amplitude 3V and frequency
1 KHz plus a cosine wave of amplitude 5V and frequency 3KHz is amplitude modulated
by a carrier of 500KHz and 50V peak. Determine the average power when the wave is

power.
