IEC 61439-2: IEC 61439-2:2011 defines the specific requirements of power switchgear and

control gear assemblies (PSC-ASSEMBLIES) as follows:

- ASSEMBLIES for which the rated voltage does not exceed 1 000 V in case of a.c. or 1 500 V
in case of d.c.;
- stationary or movable ASSEMBLIES with or without enclosure;
IEC 62208:2011 applies to empty enclosures, prior to the incorporation of switchgear and
control gear components by the user, as supplied by the enclosure manufacturer.
IEC 60445:2017 applies to the identification and marking of terminals of electrical equipment
such as resistors, fuses, relays, contactors, transformers, rotating machines and, wherever
applicable
IEC 62271-1:2017: IEC 62271-1:2017 applies to AC switchgear and control gear designed for
indoor and/or outdoor installation and for operation at service frequencies up to and including
60 Hz and having rated voltages above 1 000 V.
