ABSTRACT
Online Placement System aims at providing the Facility to automate and simplify the process of registration and list
generation of eligible students for placement. This System do all work regarding placement like collecting student
records, Authenticate & activate the student profiles, Notifying eligible students via automated message, Proper login
with time & role based secured access is provided to Placement Officer, Company, College staff and Students. Students
logging should be able to upload their information . Placement Officer can access, view information of the users and
prepare schedule of all activities regarding placements. Company can give their own application procedure by providing
link. College TPO can see the registered students and their status. All registered users are eligible to participate in
forum.

INTRODUCTION
The increasing advantages of automated system now are at highest position thus many manual processes are
automated. Since the automated system is demanded now-a-days, educational infrastructures like colleges
needed their manual system to function on computer system. One of such system which is of major
importance is placement automation for campus recruitment. This project is aimed at developing a web
application for the Placement Department of the college. This system can be used as an application for the
Placement Officer of the college to manage the student information with regards to placement. Students
logging should be able to upload their information . So, all the information will store the details of the students
including their background information, educational qualification, personal details, university marks and all
the information related to their resume. This system helps Company to access the student information with
regards to placement. Computer based information system are designed to improve existing system. Company
can notify the students about the recruitment online via sending message using message notification gateway.
This system can be used as an application for college to manage the student records according placement.

PURPOSE
Computer based information system are designed to improve existing system. Whatever the information,
Placement Officer pass it to the student via message notification. It has user friendly interface having quick
authenticated access to documents. It provides the facility of maintaining the details of the students. It will
reduce the paper work and utilize the maximum capabilities of the Setup and organization as well as it will
save time and money which are spending in making reports and collecting data. It can be accessed throughout

the organization with proper login provided. This system can be used as an application for college to manage
the student information with regards to placement.

RELATED WORK
Teacher recruitment and placement should be based on the needs of the particular educational institution. It
should not only be based on the teacher's rank but should also be based on several criteria such as teaching
experience, educational background, major, and subject the teacher is capable to teach.
If a teacher were recruited based on the need of the educational institution, it would be a factor that supports
the success of the educational program in that region. The AHP Method is developed, it is a decision-making
method which takes into account one's privacy or preference values by putting priority score in the form of
matrix criteria, computing the choices, and obtaining the percentage of each choices.
The best choice is the priority score with the highest percentage. The popularity AHP in decision making
approach is creating multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) that involves qualitative data. The method uses
a reciprocal decision matrix obtained by pair wise comparisons so that the information is given in a linguistic
form. In the pair wise comparison method, criteria and alternatives are presented in pairs of one or more
referees (e.g. experts or decision makers). Using AHP method improves credibility of decision making .
Process of decision making by comparing criteria with other can guarantee the result decision. AHP
methodology can used for individual competencies by comparing the current key competencies rankings with
results from last year to see if their have been any changes in the rankings as a result of changes in the
company’s strategy . The concept shows the suitability in applying each strategy under different degrees
influenced by the factors tested. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) helps decision maker to create a ranking
by concerning the critical aspect. The AHP [3][4], also uses a principle of hierarchic composition to derive
composite priorities of alternatives with respect to multiple criteria from their priorities with respect to each
criterion. It consists of multiplying each priority of an alternative by the priority of its corresponding criterion
and adding over all the criteria to obtain the overall priority of that alternative.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE
In order to avoid above existing placement problem we are planning to design a system for online Placement,
so that Placement activities becomes more interactive, automated and effective.
1. All the Information about student sends by the TPO of college which can be maintain in the database. It
reduces the paper work and storage area.
2. Save time & work load for TPC Staff and students.
3. Easy to access.
4. Avoid fake Entry.
5. Only Eligible students get chance.
6. Improve accuracy in result.
7. It will have a user friendly interface
8. To organize campus interviews for final year students with industries and business houses of repute from
all over colleges.
9. To prepare students to face campus interviews by arranging training in Aptitude tests, preparing for
Technical and HR interviews through training and placement wireless portal.
10. Maintaining regular interaction with the industry though HR to TPO.
11. To develop the best learning process using a comprehensive understanding of industry's best practices.
12. To provide students information about campus drives, and also it will notify students for the campus
details(date and time).
13. To prove a fast process that is it will maintain time bond between the users:(HR, TPO, Student, Teacher)

PROPOSED SYSTEM
This project is aimed at developing an online application for the Placement Department of the college. Once
you open this web application at the front end all the schedule/event are available to everyone. There are
mainly four types of users they are Admin, Student, TPO, HR. The administrator is the master user; he gets
the most number of priorities than the other users. The different functions involve the case of an administrator
are updating, approval. The administrator can view and approve the various application forms. Students can
access relevant resources placed online for them. A separate registration will be done by the Student. Students
will also use the system to read important announcements, to obtain information on assessment, to see the
results of assessments recorded in the system. Each user provided a different features & authorization. The
Placement Officer can give an approval to edited information done by the student. In addition, Placement
Officer can search the eligible student based the company criteria and can generate the list. Also system can
send an automated Message to the eligible student. When Placement Officer first login, they see all the
recently changed / created companies and vacancies. Placement Officer can gather information on all students
for which they have appropriate permissions. They can see the information provided by the student like
personal details, educational details, parent mobile number, extracurricular activity or other information. They
put online notices, schedule and events so that the entire user can view this. The companies will have to get
register for the first time so that their information’s like the URL, the contact information, papers, vacancies
will be provide. Companies can edit their own contact information to help keep it current. Companies can
view all students that have applied for vacancies, together with information on their availability, etc. The
proposed Online Placement system is intended to avoid all the drawbacks of existing system. It will add some
more features than the existing system. The proposed Online Placement system is a cost effective way of
doing the manual processes done in the existing system. This helps the organization to win the war in the
existing competitive world.

SYSTEM DESIGN
The system consists of three modules as admin module, student module, TPO, HR. Each module has an same
login page that contain user id and password field, by entering value in that field the user should login to the
system.
1. Admin
 Register Students
Admin/TPO can register all final year students of various departments with their academic records
marks, attendance etc.
 Upload Students Marks
Using AHP Admin evaluates the students based on specific attributes. Due to this the Students who have
good score in specified attributes will appear at the top of the list. Then Admin uploads the Students list
with their AHP score.
2. HR Login
 Start placement drive and set criteria
Whenever HR finds any requirement in his company. He will start the placement drive and mention the
respective details such as number of vacancies, criteria, CTC etc.
 View students with aggregate %
Then HR views the Students list uploaded by the Admin and Selects students for test who get fit into the
criteria such as percentage.
 Send online test to user
Then these selected Students will be sent the test link for online test. Students answer the questions
asked in the test.
 Shortlist student and send offer letter
Based on the answers submitted by the students HR displays the result and send the offer letter to the
short-listed students.
3. Student
 View Companies
Student can view companies and their placement drive details such as number of vacancies,criteria,CTC
etc. uploaded by the respective HR.
 Appear for test and view results
Student can appear for online test initiated by HR of any Company and view the result declared by HR.
 Apply For Open Campus
Students can apply for open campuses.

FUTURE SCOPE
In the future we can place the system on the cloud so the maintenance of the data can be reduced. The Exam
system will integrate with the online placement system so the student result can get directly. There can be
many more future Enhancement & improvement in the Online Placement System.

CONCLUSION
In the existing Placement system, maximum work goes manually and is error prone system, takes time for any
changes in the system. This big problem is the searching; sorting and updating of the student data and no any
notification method available for giving information to student except the notice board. Proposed system gets
automated in the online registration all the user, activation and deactivation of the user, personalization to the
user, resources to be provided online, communication between the users, online feedback. The admin can see

the user information and will validate it, generate the student list based on the company criteria, company
details can be provided to the user, searching and sorting can be done, and reports can be generated. Overall,
all the process of the training and placement department is automated.
