What was our lesson last time?

What is intejection?

All right. Now I have here a box. Inside this box are different interjections with example sentences. I will
call set of pupils to pick up the sentences and tell what emotions are expressed by the interjections in
the following sentences.

Possible Sentences:

1. Wow! You look great tonight.

2. Yippee! I made this picture all by myself.

3. Hi, I'm glad that you could make it to my party!

4. That was the best performance that I have ever seen, bravo!

5. Hmm, I wonder where I put my keys and wallet.

5. Spelling

Now, we'll have our spelling. But before we start, what are the things that you should remember when
it's spelling time?

(The teacher will read the word and call each pupils to spell the word verbally.)

1. egg

- a hard-shelled oval thing from which a bird, snake,etc. is born.

2. buy

- to get something by paying money for it.

3. stop
- to not move, walk, etc. after doing so before.

- to direct your eyes in a particular direction.

- to know the meaning of something such as the words that someone is saying or a language.

6. hand

- the body part at the end of your arm that includes the fingers and thumb.

7. peso

- the basic unit of money.

8. cost

- the price of something.

9. give

- to hand over

10. pieces

- a small often broken part of something.

All right, behind this heart is money.


7. Unlocking of Difficulties

This morning,we will read a story. But before that, let us first know the meaning of the difficult words
that you may encounter in the story.

a. bills (through real objects)

- a pieces of paper money

b. store (through picture flash in the ppt)

- a place where something is sold.

c. storekeeper

- person who owns the store.

d.change (through a situation)

- a smaller amount of money given in exchange for higher amount of money.

B. Development of Lesson

1. Presentation

I will read a story. But before that, what are the things that you should remember while listening to a
story?

Okay. Now let's have our story.

(The teacher will read story through PowerPoint presentation.)

2.1 Comprehension Check Up

Let us see if you really understand the story. I have here biscuits with strips of paper. The paper contains
a question. I will call someone to answer the question. If you answer it correctly, you could have the
biscuit!
Possible Questions:

2. How many eggs did she buy?

3. How much do egg cost in all?

4. How much did Lara give to the storekeeper?

5. Did the storekeeper give Lara the right change?

That's right! Did you also experience what Lara experienced?

What did you do then?

Good job! Class, honesty is not just being shown by giving back excess change. We should also show it in
other situations. If you are honest, people will surely trust you. Remember that "Honesty is the best
policy".

Class, let us go back to the story of Lara. Do you think the story has a complete ending?

That's right! Now, let us think of the ending for the story.

It could be. Now, what we did was, we thought of what would happen next in the story. We call it
"Predicting Outcome".

Predicting Outcome means thinking what will happen next. From the given story, how did you predict
what Lara did next?
Good job! Class, for us to predict outcome, we may use the events that happened in the given story or
situation. We may also use the information from our experiences. Do you understand?

Now, let's try other situations. Let us predict what will happen next to the following situations:

(Show the following situations through flashing it on the Power Point presentation.)

Class look around you. What do you notice about our classroom? Do you see pictures posted on the
wall?

We will play a game. Do you know the game "Bring Me?".

Okay, I'm going to show different situation. You will predict what will happen next based on the given
situation. You will find the answer on the picture posted on the wall. Once you find it, bring it to me. The
first one can bring the correct picture will receive a prize. Do you understand?

Class, I will group you into three (3). Each group will be given an activity card. Inside the activity card are
the activities that you will do. Do you understand?

Okay. Now, for you to be guided on how your work will be graded. I have here a rubric.

Directions: Read the situation. Write the two possible events that tells what the boys will do next. Write
your answers. Inside the fishes.

Brandon and Ren decided to go fishing. They caught almost 5 kilos of fish. They put the fishes in the pail.

Group II (Role Play)

Directions: Read the given situation. Dramatize within 1-2 minutes you think would happen next.

Situation:

A boy is crossing along the street. Suddenly, a car comes so fast. What do you think would happen next?

Group III (Let us Draw)

Directions: Read the given situation. Draw what do you think would happen next.

Situation:

Many Robert and Albert went walking up the mountain to cut trees for woods. They do this everyday
without replacing the trees they cut. Then suddenly a heavy rain fell.

What do you think would happen next?

3. Michelle was not feeling well. Her parents were very worried. They didn't know what to do. They
hailed a taxi and decided to get help for Michelle.
