Slide 1 : Good morning. Thank you sir for being here today.

My name is Ayu
Rossa Agustin Nursavy presenting my final project. Title is : corrosion
rate analysis of carbon steel ss400 material on the roof top of t-14 tank with
variations in coating thickness and temperature
Slide 2 : Background. The waste water storage tank from the production process at PT.
ALP Petro Industry had a corrosion on the roof top. A 5mm thick tank has a
hole and steam from waste water containing sulfied and amonia comes out
smelled by the workers can also pollute the air around the tank.
Of the many methods, in this study using a coating method. With variations on
thickness of the coating and temperature, corrosion test needed to obtain the
appropriate thickness for recommendation to PT. ALP Petro Indusrty.
Slide 3 : - Problem of Analysis
1. What is the effect of fiber layer thickness on the corrosion rate?
2. How does the temperature affect the corrosion rate?
3. What corrosion prevention recommendations that suitable?
- The purpose
1. Knowing the effect fiber layer thickness on the corrosion rate
2. Knowing the effect of temperature on the corrosion rate
3. Knowing the corrosion prevention recommendations that suitable
Slide 4 : Here is the flow chart of the final project. (then, next, and then)
Slide 5 : Here are the variable of sac es testing speciment
Slide 6 : Calculation result of corrosion rate
Slide 7 : Here are the graph of corrosion rate
Slide 8 : Calculation result of remaining life
Slide 9 : Here are the conclution
1. The highest value of corrosion rate is obtained from specimens of 5 mm
thickness at a temperature of 70oC which is 0.5983 mm/year. The lowest
corrosion rate is obtained from specimens of 5 mm coating thickness at a
temperature of 30oC which is 0.3169 mm / year.
2. The higher the temperature, the greater the corrosion rate. Otherwise, the
lower the temperature, the smaller the corrosion rate.
3. From the calculation results, it was concluded that the 5 mm coating
thickness could be recommended to the company to overcome the
corrosion that occurred on the roof top of the T-14 tank and had a value
of 31.1 years of remaining life.
Pentup : Thank you for your attention. Wassalamualaikum.
