I.

Objectives

At the end of a 60-minute lesson, the students must have demonstrated the following
with at least 80% proficiency:

a. identified various settings of social work;


b. cited situations or social issues addressed by social workers in their
respective settings and
c. designed a plan of intervention in helping the clients meet their needs.

A. Pre-Developmental Activities

The students will play a game called “SEND ME SWEETS”.


They will be given candies with dedications and will be asked to give their candies
to whom they wanted to send the dedications in it.

B. Developmental Activities

 The students will be grouped into five and will work as a team of social workers.
 The students will be given various social issues faced by different clients and as a team
of social workers; they will design a plan of intervention to address these
circumstances.
 The students will present their works to the whole class explaining how did they come
up to that intervention.
 Using the works of the students, the teacher will then introduce and discuss the
settings of social work.
 For generalization, the students will be taught of a gesture mnemonics to easily
remember the settings of social work.

C. Post Developmental Activities

IV. Evaluation

The students will be having a quiz regarding the Settings in Social Work.

Directions: Identify what setting of social work is referred in each situation.

Government 1. Social workers conduct a research study about the effectivity of the
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
School 2. A social worker talks to a child who is reported being bullied by his
classmates.
Civil Society 3. A social worker helps the policemen in an operation saving children
against child labor.
Private Sector 4. A company has conducted a medical mission on a community nearby
through the mediation of social workers.
Community 5. A coastal community is provided a daing facility to generate income for
its inhabitants through the initiative of a social worker.
