INHS takes part in the celebration of DEPED’s 121st Foundation Day

With the theme “DepEd Para sa Pilipino”, Inarawan National High School took part in
the celebration of the Department of Education 121st Foundation Day, Friday, June 21.

In pursuant to Administrative Order No. 322 s. of 1997 issued by former president Fidel
V. Ramos that recognizes June 23, 1998 as the foundation day of the department, the agency
enjoined schools and offices as well as its personnel to take part in the activities related to the
celebration.

Moreover, Education Secretary Leonor Briones issued DepEd Memorandum No. 77

series of 2019 to undersecretaries, bureau service directors, regional directors, school division
superintendents, and heads of public and private elementary and secondary schools highlighting
the activities to be conducted on the said celebration. She also mentioned that the announcing of
all offices and schools to include DepEd’s 121st Foundation Day announcement in their
respective flag raising ceremonies on June 17, 2019. All offices and schools were also
encouraged to organize their own activities related to this year’s theme.

To promote public awareness of the event, the central office enjoined schools division
offices to produce information and communication materials by hanging DepEd 121st
Foundation Day official streamer in all offices and schools, as seen at the façade of Inarawan
National High School. In addition, the teaching and non-teaching personnel were encouraged to
wear blue shirts/polo/blouses on the said date in support of the celebration. INHS faculty and
staff ensured that they were in full support to DepEd as they wore the said dress code as seen in
the group picture.

Furthermore, DepEd urged its personnel to participate in the event online by changing
their facebook cover using DepEd 121st Foundation Day tarpaulin or streamer design and by
sharing to the public some stories emphasizing their most unforgettable DepEd experiences using
the hashtags #DepEd121 and #DepEdParaSaPilipino in social media accounts. Meanwhile,
teachers were very participative as they were observed changing their cover and display photos
on facebook using the agency’s crafted frame.
