Medical Officer III at the DOH: Analyze information and gaps of DOH research studies, policies and
procedures all across the program.
 Provide high-level technical coordination and support to DOH units, working groups and/or
committees
 Monitor and address duplicity in activities and gaps of strategic plans of the public health
programs.
 Review proposed policies, policy briefs, technical presentations, researches, meetings,
guidelines and procedures to ensure appropriate use of research methodology, grounding of
interventions in evidence, and to ensure the provisions proposed therein do not conflict with
or duplicate existing provisions
 Assist in managing and evaluating the deliverables of the aforementioned bureaus. For
example, the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCB), which manages majority of the
public health programs of the DOH, is directly under the supervision of the Assistant Secretary
of the TSC.
 As such, the program managers of the different public health programs (PHP) regularly consult
the Assistant Secretary for technical assistance and recommendations. With the immense
number of PHPs lodged in the DPCB, the Assistant Secretary requires technical assistance for
her to provide appropriate recommendatory and decision-making actions.
 Likewise, because PHPs are centered on health, medical knowledge and expertise, provided
for by medical officers, will be beneficial to assist the Assistant Secretary in matters related to
the proper implementation of these PHPs.
School Physician at the Technological Institute of the Philippines
 Health appraisal/consult
 First aid and emergency service
 Participation in prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases
 Participation in health education
 Supervising preparation of statistical indices and health reports

I certify to the truthfulness of the above statements.
