SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION+STORY
WARM UP: GAME WITH A BALL: the children will remember the grammatical structure ‘’I can’’ ‘’ I
can’t’’ and ‘’ can you..’’. I will ask a question ‘’ can you sing?’’
C:BOOK: Reading the story + SONG: “I have five senses”
PLENARY ACTIVITY: Worksheet can/cant
SESSION 2: SIGHT
WARM UP: “ I spy with my Little eye…” in pairs
C:RESEARCH: investigate student’s colour of eyes. Make a class graph.
P:BRAILLE: the teacher will show you the braille alphabet. Create and translate messages
SESSION 3: HEARING
WARM UP: YOUTUBE“What makes this sound?” Children should guess what animal or object
produces that sound. remembering the vocabulary of other years
CENTRAL ACTIVITY: SIGN LANGUAGE: reproduce a word and guess it.
P: THE MAGIC OF THE SONGS: TPR ACTIVITY
ESSION 4: SMELL
WARM UP: song Nose and Sense of Smell- A 5 senses Sing-Along!. identify good/bad smells
C:MISTERY CAN: guess the different smells
P:WRITING: they’ll write if it smells good/bad. I’ll show them different objects
SESSION 5: TOUCH
W:“to touch or not to touch?” things that are safe o not to touch (fire, knife, apple…)Can we touch
the fire? An apple?
C:TACTILE DOUBLE TROUBLE: two bags containing same objects+ CLASSIFY OBJECTS into
soft, rough, smooth and hard.
P:WORKSHEET in pairs ‘’it feels..’’ children should write 5 objects or things in each finger
SESSION 6: TASTE
WARM UP: real food for tasting the different tastes (sweet, salty, sour and bitter)
C:CLASSIFY THE FOOD WORKSHEET into the four groups. The teacher will show images of food
using flashcards and they should write on the card the name of the food and what flavor it has. They
could invent others + SURVEY: “What’s your favourite flavor food? With prize
P: CANDY GAME: try and guess the flavour
SESSION 7: PARTS OF THE BODY
W: TPR song ‘’head, shoulder, knees and toes’’ and SYMON SAYS with flashcards ‘’touch your..’’
CENTRAL ACTIVITY: create FORKY
PLENARY ACTIVITY: Domino game.
SESSION 8: HELLEN KELLER (INCLUSION)
WARM UP: watching the video about hellen keller
CENTRAL ACTIVITY: ROLE-PLAY. In pairs 1 child will cover his eyes with a blindfold and will wear
earmuffs to avoid listening, thus becoming Hellen. Their partners should be able to transmit a
message and give them a walk around the class avoiding the '' barriers ''.
PLENARY ACTIVITY: GAME CAN/CAN’T blu-tack
SESSION 8: E-TWINNING (XMAS) + PORTFOLIO (XMAS)
E-TWINNING: Spanish and Italian tastes. Typical xmas food. (record reading the document) + Board
game: 5 senses board game
SESSION 9: PORTFOLIO
The children will taste typical Christmas sweets from Spain without seeing. Guessing what it is and
describing its smell, texture/ taste. Later they should draw the sweet and write down the description
after trying it. They will try desserts of Australia + WORKSHEET / TEST my five senses in general
I have chosen this LP because it necessary that children know their bodies. the body allows children
to express themselves. thanks to the body children can play, they have fun, they can move and they
can know and discover new things. therefore, it is necessary that at these ages we pay attention to
the knowledge of oneself and the abilities that our body provides us.
I have chosen this story to introduce this topic because it is a brief and simple story that manages to
create curiosity for children to know more parts of their body, starting with the simplest and most
general ones. Moreover, it teaches some of the abilities that a child can do with each part of their
body
