Dear Judge Fawcett,

I write to you regarding the case involving Dongwook Mikey Ko. My daughter,9twas F 's
roommate at the String Academy .at lnotana University wtiere the incident took place. As you may know,
before the incident invplving B j , Mikey visited-in her practice room as well.,.. and
do not know Mikey well at all, so this was unusl.lal. I can only imagine his intentions, which I am sure were
slmllar to those dlsplayed In his attack on

As a parent. I am deeply concerned, angered and saddened about the possibility of Mikey being released
on bail. Since the incid�nt,..,has been terrified to be alone, cries, and has been completely
destablllzed by this lnddent lnvolvlng her best friend. When••aescaped from Mikey, she ran to
·• and the terror the girls experienced in the moments afte!W�rds as they waited in fear that Mikey
was coming back for them cannot be undone. Bloomington, our home, now feels like a different, less safe
plac;e for our daughter/her sister and our family. The idea that Mikey would be back in the community
after such a terrorizing event is something I can't imagine being eble to tell the glrls.

As the , I am also responsible for the safety

and well-being of humtreds of young people in our university programs. In my role, I am accountable to
their parents and guardians, who depend upon us to provide a safe place for their children to learn. This
inddent has shaken our community and 1.mdermlned our sense of security and well-being. In weighing
your decision, I ask th�1t you take into account the best Interests of the many youth and children in our
community, who need to be reassured that they are secure.

For these reasons, I urge you to consider only releasing Mikey on the condition of house arrest, with some
type of tracking device where he can be easlly detained 1f he leaves his home. While my heart goes ottt to
Mikey's family and I arfsympatt,etic thathe is a troubled young man and hope that he gets the l1elp he
needs, we are extremely worried, given his m�ntal state, that he might tilke some type of retaliatory action
against our daughter ahd her friends, as well as further contribute to the trauma that has resulted from his
actions.
