Topic: Biblical Family Relationship

Text: Ephesians 6:1-4

This message is not only for the father but also for the all adults who have parents
as verse 2-3 of our ext say, Honor they father and mother. For parent this means that we
should not neglect them. God require us to care for them and love them. This is message
also for all our youthful members who are still under the care of their parents. The first
verse says, children obey your parents in the lord, for this is right. Let me tell you who
are youth here, try to learn to treasure the time you spend with your parents. Youth let me
tell you this you may have lots of friends whom you and hang out with but in this life you
will only have one father and one mother to call your own. So make good use of your
opportunity you still have now to build a good relationship with your father and mother,
for the day will come when you will have to leave home and go your own separate way.
You may go other place for study and settle down there and you may not see your
parents.

May be some of you may have hard time to talk with your parents but let me tell
you; start doing it from today ok.

There are various ways which emphasize family relationship in Bible.

A. The Example of Godly Parents and Children

Parents let us always remember that our children are always following our
footsteps that we make. The first education of children is at home. What we do and how
will talk to them and in which way we set our lives to them is the matter the most and that
is the first education that they learned.

Fathers if you are drinking and smoking in front of your children, is it a good
Godly example or bad example. You need to think it now. Will you like your children to
smoke and drink like you? How will you feel when your children are smoking and
drinking in front of you? Will you just look at them and said my sons and my daughters
you need a great job or you just smile at them. Tell me what you will feel, if you feel pain
than stop showing bad and ungodly example to your children. And start showing godly
example if you want your children to be good than start showing good example by
reading Bible together, pray together and set godly example.

1. Even husband are commanded to love their wives and wives are command
to submit to their husbands (Eph. 5:22-25).
2. Parents are commanded to love, instruct, and discipline their children (Titus
2:4; Deut. 6:7, Proverbs 13:24).
3. And children are command to honor and obey their parents (Ex. 20:12).
4. Mothers are command to have commitment bring their child no matter how
difficult he may be (Isaiah 49:15), can a woman forget her sucking child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
5. Commitment also makes a person willing to help his brothers and sisters in
the day of circumstance and adversity. In proverbs 17:17 say, “a friend
loved at all times and a brother is born for adversity. The point I want to
make here is that as a family we need to love one another, we need to care
for one another. Brothers need to love sisters and sisters need to lover
brothers, this is how God desire for family.
6. Above all the most important part is knowing Christ as our personal savior
and lord. Let me ask you how many of you are still living in sin, if you
never confess your sin to God, and let’s start from today. We one of our
family members is save that is the most sad part in the family. Because that
is the eternal lost. We need to help one another to go in the way of godly.

The conclusion is we need to apply those principles in order to have a biblical

family relationship. This sermon is to help each others to have a wonderful family lives.
