Abstract

The report consists of brief intro of organizational body of industry. it contain the
information which got to know in whole 45 days where we gain the practical knowledge of
various section and the part of ST buses of MSRTC. In this implant training we practically
perform the actual works perform on the buses which help us to broad our knowledge
about certain automobile part. Which is we unable to know personally this training period
gain our knowledge about group work and

There are various type of machine is use for repairing purpose .we learn how to
perform work on critical conditions despite been pressure. We learn basic skills from
supervisor how to maintain the industry by means of proper management. We use to know
about various type of engine, and its working. There are different types buses use for short,
medium, long distance according to their distance there maintenance period is fixed. Before
installing the engine on the bus we perform testing operation on the engine to check
performance of engine.

Machinery like crane, jacks etc. use to carry heavy component of bus like engine,
safety major is base of this workshop. Everyone should be follow basic safety precaution
deliberately for their own safety This whole working experience of my overall internship
period help me to gain the practical knowledge of working of machine and its need and
information.

HISTORY
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation is established by state government
of Maharashtra as per the provision in section 3 of RTC act 1950. The M.S.R.T. Corporation
is operating its services by the approved scheme of road transport published vide notification
dated 29/11/1973 in the official gazette.

First bus having been flagged offfrom the Pune to Ahmednagar in 1948. The driver
and conductor used to wear khaki uniforms and peak caps. The ST started with 30 Bedford
buses having wooden bodies, coir seats and fare charge on the Pune-Nagar route was nine
paisa. Having seen the ST undergo many changes, list them off as increasing the seating
capacity from the original 30 to 45 to 54, introduction of all steel bodies to replace wooden
bodies to make them stronger and cushion seats for more comfort.

Maintenance Work in workshop:-

Engine Section:-
 Remove water or coolant in the radiator.
 Check leakage in the base pipe.
 Add new water or coolant in radiator.
 Check valve clearance by followed.
Tata:- Inlet valve 0.20 mm & Exhaust valve 0.30 mm.
Ashok Leyland: - Inlet valve 0.20 mm & Exhaust valve 0.20 mm.
 Remove air cleaner of ST bus add new water and check rubber packing and
foundation.
 Remove engine oil in the bus, change oil filter element, and add new engine oil.
 Check oil pressure maximum and minimum speed of engine.

11
CHAPTER NO. 5

Testing of raw materials, components and finished products along with

quality assurance procedures:-

1. Engine Testing Department

 This department checks the proper working of engine after it is completely ready to
work.
 There about 8 to 10 machines in this department on which working of engine is tested.
 Some connection is needed to be made on engine and when power is supply the
engine runs.
 During engine testing it checks the leakage of oil and the sound of engine also check.
 At this time they check the clearance of inlet and outlet valves.
 The following photograph indicates the working of this department.

12
2. Injector Testing Department
 The fuel injector of engine is sent to this department for their testing.
 It contains an equipment for testing which has reservoir in which diesel is
store.
 After cleaning the injector it is placed on the injector holder.
 And as the pump is compressed, diesel reaches upto injector and it is injected
through holes in the injector.
 As the diesel sprays from the injector holes the accuracy of that injector is
decided.
 Following photograph shows the work of this department.

13
CHAPTER NO. 6

Major Material Handling Product (lifts, cranes, jacks, gear box tray).
Gear box transport from one place to another place by the help of gear box
tray and crane also tyre and all other parts of ST bus are transport from one place to another
place.

Documenting operating and lifting procedure can help define responsibilities

and manage crane activity in a logical and systematic way. This means the crane operating is
more likely to be carried out safely. Lifting procedure should be prepared to suit the crane,
the work and the working condition. The crane operator is responsible for operating a mobile
crane to lift, move, positioned and respositional loads. The operator control crane functions
by depressing buttons and foot pedals as well as manipulating levers.

All followed products are main role in industry to decrease the work of worker
and helpful for workers to work. With the help of this product heavy materials are handling in
the industry.

14
CHAPTER NO. 7

Safety procedures followed and safety gear used:-

 Use safety shoes, apron, helmet, hand-gloves, protection glass during working.
 While changing components of the circuit the power should be switched so that we
should not experience electric shocks.
 Avoid improper handling of instrument.
 Properly assemble and dissemble part of machine.
 Use tools and machine properly, report unsafe condition to your supervisor.
 Wear the correct safety equipment during the working. Stay completely alert on the
job.
 Eliminate fire hazardous and clean the workplace area time to time.
 Do not report to work; operate to vehicle or any equipment while under the influence
of alcohol or drugs.
 Inspect equipment prior to uses lockout defective equipment.
 Use safety procedure to prevent for breakdown.
 Follow safety data sheets, guidelines of handling hazardous material or dangerous
goods.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, there were many things that we have experienced and learned during
the 6 weeks of my Industrial Training at S.T. Workshop Bhandara. The whole training period
was very interesting, instructive and challenging. Through this training we were able to gain
new insights and more comprehensive understanding about the real industry working
condition and practice. The 6 weeks placement also has provided us the opportunities to
develop and improve my functional skills. All of these valuable experiences and knowledge
that we have gained were not only acquired through the direct involvement in task given but
also through other aspect of the training such as work observation, interaction with
colleagues, superior, and other people related to the field. From what we have undergone,
Training program has achieved its entire primary objectives. It also the best way to prepare
us to face the real working life. As a result of the program now we are more confident to
build our future career.
