CONTEST PROPER

Bahay Kubo

Rabong- It is a dance glorifying the bamboo shoot as a delicacy of the

Ilocanos.

Alitaptap- This dance is native to the Tagalogs. The term “alitaptap” refers
to an insect which flies only at night and looks like it is carrying a lamp.

Kunday Kunday- It is a native Tagalog dance demonstrating some artistic

and graceful “kunday” hand movements. This shows that the dancers are
very happy.

Kilingkingan- It is a dance from Cagayan that derives its name from a small
bird that lives in caves and has a call which resembles the sound of
bamboo castanets.

Cariñosa- It is a dance made of flirting. Dancers make a number of flirtatious

movements as they hide behind fans or handkerchiefs and peek out at one
another. The essence of the dance is the courtship between two
sweethearts.

Madrileña- It is one of the Spanish-Influenced Dances from Nueva Vizcaya.
