on the topic ‘The Impact of Cyber crimes and its challenges’. It comprises certain contents. As
we all know and hear the word cyber crime. Yes, any crime that involves in computer or network
device is called cyber crime or computer crime. It is used as a tool or considered as a main
theme to commit all the crimes. There are different types of cyber crimes but I give the
explanation of a few more and most important one. First of all, Hacking means breaking a
security system and it refers to unauthorized intrusion into a computer or network. Next, virus
dissemination the dissemination word shows what is that. It means to spread and scatter
widely. Viruses are programmed that attach themselves to or infect a system or files and it has a
tendency to circulate to other computers or a network. It affects the data which is stored in the
computer in what way means either by modifying it or by deleting it. The third one is,
Pornography the portrayal of sexual acts such as postcards, written work, photographs and
videos for the purpose of sexual arousal. Next we see credit card fraud it is a wide ranging term
for theft and the main purpose is to obtain good without paying, or steal unauthorized funds
from an account. The next one is phishing it is also a fraudulent activity and the picture also
symbolizes how to get a fish through the net but here to get sensitive information such as user
names, pass words, credit card details through e mail by disguising as a trustworthy. Before that
the final, spoofing, spoof means trick, hoax or deceive. The main source is hiding one’s identity
or faking the identity of another user on the internet. Last but not the least, salami attack means
a small amount of money from every account or lot of accounts over a period of time. Top most
ranking of states in India, among the 29 states in India Uttar Pradesh was top of the list when
the crime was blackmailing and inciting hate crimes against a community. Next Union Territories
the highest number of cyber crimes occurred in Delhi. Then totally in India cyber crimes arose 19
times over the last ten years from 2005 to 2014 and India is now ranked third after the USA and
China in what category obscenity, cheating sexual exploitation. But our Government make such
acts to control and are registered under three broad heads, the IT act, that means Information
Technology, IPC means Indian Penal Code and SLL means State Level Legislations. What
measures we have to follow to control it 1. Use Strong passwords 2. Never reply to emails that
ask you to verify your information. 3. Never share your password with unknown person. 4. If a
pop up message appears on your computer, do not call the number. 5. Never share your credit
card details, aadhaar number, OTP details, and Net banking details with unknown person. 6.
Best place to store passwords is in your brain and the last one is secure wireless network. I
