QUARTER 1

Week 1

What is rhythm?

In music, rhythm refers to the flow, breathing pattern or simply

the pulse of music. Rhythm makes you tap your feet, clap your

hands, nod your head, and swing your body. The first musical

instruments were hands clapping together and feet beating time.

Today, we still clap our hands to the beat of song. Our feet still beat

time to the exciting rhythm of a march or a dancing tune.

Let us try this:

Clap the following notes using in 2, 3, 4

Week 5

Have you watched an orchestra performance? Or a choral and

rondalla presentation? The one who is leading an orchestra, choral,

and other instrumental group is called a conductor. He or She is the

leader of a group of musicians who helps them produce good music

together. He or she directs them by waving his or her hands or a stick

called a baton. He or She motions when he or she wants them to play

the fast or slow, loud or soft. He or she helps them express the way

he or she thinks the composer wanted the music to sound.

How do you conduct the different kinds of time signature?

Each time signature in music has a unique conducting pattern.

It indicates the number of beats inherent to each measure. The

conducting gestures depend upon the tempo of the musical

arrangement.

Group Activity 1

Form 4 groups and give their activity cards then present the

song after.
