Activity/Job Line Heating Procedure for the main transverse beams of ship lift platform

1. After joining the beam to the required length of 14500mm secure the beam on the jig which have been prepared with 25mm camber.
2. Mark the lines on the web as marked in the drawing & on the top face plate too according to the same dimensions.
3. In the web, mark the dimension of 330mm below the top face plate on the previously marked lines.
4. Start heating the no. 01 station in a one side of both web & flange simultaneously.
5. The total length of the flange (306mm) is heated & as the total flange is being heated up to a temperature around 3000C-3500C (This can be achieved
by heating around 10-15mins with the Oxygen-LP heating), water is applied as required.
6. In the meantime, the web also is heated from station no.01 from the marked point, 330mm below the top face plate. The heating should be done in
the ‘V’ shape as illustrated in the drawing as the width is increasing up to the top face plate. This heating is also carried out for 10-15 mins & after 05
mins heat application, applying the water is started.
7. Then the station 1 in the opposite side is heated and water applying is done in the same way.
8. Then, the station 2(1200mm in to the centre) in the first side is heated & water applying is done & interchanging the side of the station, the procedure
is continued in the 12 stations.
9. The temperature is controlled between & 3000C-3500C & the camber is maintained at 25mm.
