END OF CHAPTER 6 QUESTIONS

1. What is the relationship between the conceptual framework and the

theoretical framework?

Theoretical framework is derived form the conceptual framework as it

provides direction and focus to where the research is heading towards a certain
conclusion aimed by the researcher. While theoretical framework is based on
existing theories, conceptual framework is developed by the researcher on its own
study using the theoretical framework and other data gathered. In research, use
of conceptual and theoretical framework are used interchangeably as both refer to
the overall ideas and concepts used in the study. Nonetheless, the main
difference of the two could be concluded as to the scope of each framework
reflects the opposite of the other. Where in theoretical framework which contains
many ideas in general which may or not be used but were somehow considered in the
research, conceptual framework focuses more on ideas specifically related and
were actually used in the study.

2. What is a theoretical framework?

3. Explain the role of references in the literature review.

In literature review, having many references as possible concludes that the

researcher is well able to demonstrate the knowledge and expertise in the
theoretical filed as it is an evidence as to how much literature works were
undertaken by the researcher to prove to how well studied the conclusion were
derived. Referencing is very important to make sure that all relevant research
used in the study were properly cited for. This has become one of the standards
in the institution as seeing in the references the kind of materials used in the
research could also draw conclusion as to how the study was made. In short,
making sure that the references used as cited were valuable and distinguished to
create a good image and enhance the value of the literature review. With that, it
should also be avoided to use references classified as those poorly done so as
not to make a bad impression and be associated with them. As the product becomes
one of the researcher’s own, a careful study and selection of resource materials
should be observed to be able to produce the best possible outcome and remove
those that could deter the success of the output.

4. What is a bibliography?

Bibliography is the summary of listing where all references such as books,

magazines, writings, websites and other published works, that were used to carry
out the research. It is generally where data owned or published by others that
were lifted or used to make conclusions and generalizations in the study. While
there are different ways to cite the resources used, bibliography is one of the
common ways to give due credit to where the articles, ideas and information were
gathered from. Bibliography is usually found to appear at the end of the study
where the details of the source such as the title, author and date and place
where it was published it is simply written. As there are also other ways to
write a bibliography, such depends on the researcher as to how to properly cite
the resources used as long as it is completely written to avoid legal impediments
in the use of someone else’s published article.
