Introduction
What is design thinking? In its simplest form, design thinking is a
process applicable to all walks of life of creating new and innovative
ideas and solving problems. It is not limited to a specific industry or area
of expertise. It can be as effective in technology or education as it may
be in services or manufacturing. It could result in new products and
services for customers or improved processes and productivity gains for
internal operations. If applied with equal fervor, it can even transform
HR, finance, marketing, or operations teams turning them into lean and
agile profit centers.
To us, design thinking is a framework for ingenuity. It can generate
excitement for new ideas, leading to solutions that address unmet needs.
Just as business intelligence can be the enabler for faster,
better-informed decisions, design thinking can be the driver for better-
designed solutions for products and services.
We always argue that passion is the fire that ignites engagement by
inspiring what is possible. In the context of business and technology,
ideas create the demand for technology that can translate into solutions
that drive growth and profitability.
Design thinking can be a particularly valuable tool for social
entrepreneurs. Sometimes, our passion is wasted on ideas that, for
reasons that may never be entirely clear to any of us, wither away.
The obstacles to adoption may be too high, the end user may not fully
understand the solution, or the problem may have been wrongly framed
in the first place. Design thinking offers a way to discover the right
problem and a way to overcome the obstacles to adoption before the
solution is final.
Solutions, whether they are products, services, processes or teams, that
have come about through design thinking are more likely to be adopted
quickly, because they have been created with the end users in mind.
When it comes to social problems, time is of the essence.
Our team, has seen the problems occurring in object identification by
many unknown people and as a solution to that we are planning to
design an object detecting device which can solve the problem by giving
the required information about the object detected using image
processing.
Importance of logbook:
Logbooks are an excellent repository for design documentation and
encourage regular use.
Definition: An engineering logbook is a personal/professional reference
about project learning and results. To protecting intellectual property in
the workplace, it should be bound so that pages cannot be
inserted/removed, written in ink, dated, and fill consecutive pages. Log
books help you remember where you’ve been, what you’ve seen and
who you’ve been working with.
High performing individuals in all professions are similar to the extent
that they monitor and control where they invest their time, they learn and
apply the best practices their profession, and they regularly take time to
learn from their successes and failures.
