CHAPTER I

Introduction

EU-Teens’ Delicacies planned to produce, sell and promote special delights that are

well-known in the list of Filipino favorites such as yema, pastillas, polvoroll (barquillos), tart,

and polvoron. Filipinos love sweet candies and salty snacks that are affordable and can be eaten

anytime conveniently. Selling these products and making it available to possible customers,

especially students, is a good opportunity to take. The company is interested in selling these

delicacies, because aside from their easy production procedures, the required raw materials are

available in the market at an economical value. In addition, some of the members of the team

have personal experiences in creating such sweets, mainly as their family business, so the team

would like to take that advantage and bring their products inside the school premises. Since most

people in the market environment like sweet desserts but don’t want to spend much money on

buying one, the team planned on producing products that have an affordable cost. There’s not

much competition in the environment for most food businesses present in the school offers

savory products, and there’s less of those who sells sweets. These products last long when kept

properly in the desired conditions. They are available anywhere and anytime at an affordable

price. They are known to be part of the Filipino favorites and by promoting them, consumers

will be given the chance to experience the taste of Filipino culture as well, by means of

indulging in some of the famous delicacies in the country made available and affordable for

everybody. Other than as a project for Entrepreneurship, the purpose of this business is to serve

as the team’s training ground in operating businesses through its implementation where they can

learn how to work, strategize and fulfill the business’ objectives despite the possible challenges.

Financial Studies

The team has made the following assumptions regarding the projected income, possible

prices of the products, and the required budget to operate the business.

Projected Income/ Target Profit

The team’s target income is 100% of the capital. They are aiming to hit Php 1000.00

revenue with at least Php 500.00 profit after the business implementation.

Revenues Php 1000.00

Cost of Goods Sold Php 500.00
Gross Profit Php 500.00 (100%)

Financial Plan/Need

To start the business, the team will allot Php 500.00 to buy at least two kinds of the

proposed products on the first day, specifically Polvoroll and tart. The initial fund will be from

the contribution of each member which will be Php 73.00 each. The team thinks that it’s best to

not sell all kinds of products at once, to avoid spending a lot of money at the first launch of the

business. In this way, they can prepare and control the production of supply. If the products sold

out in a short period of time and have positive feedback from the customers, then they will used

our balance budget to buy and produce the other proposed products to offer more choices to the

customers.
