Papers are invited for the third, fourth and fifth issues of the peer-reviewed journal of bi-annual frequency: Dupleix
Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences of Chandernagore College (pure science, bio-science, earth science and
social science with mathematical application).

Guidelines for Submission

It is a policy of the journals that each issue should contain at least one article by members of Chandernagore
College. Submissions should be original and not previously published elsewhere or submitted for consideration to
any other journal. Authors should submit a declaration to this intent along with the manuscript. Manuscripts may be
rejected without peer review by the Editor-in-Chief if they do not comply with the instructions for authors. The Title
Sheet should be a separate file indicating the Title of the Article, Name, Designation and Affiliation of the Authors.
In no case these particulars should be mentioned in the file containing the article itself to help the double blind peer
review process. All articles should be in the range of 2500 to 3500 words.

The Title Sheet file should contain the Title, Name/s of Author/s, Designation and Affiliation, mobile number and e-
mail ID. The article should be in a separate file containing the Title, Abstract, Key Words, Introduction, Material
and Methods, Results and Discussions, Conclusion, Reference.
Format: The Manuscript should be double-spaced, in MS Word, Times New Roman, Font size 11.

Title: It should be in Block letters, brief and direct.

Abstract: It should summarize the content of the paper. It should be accurate, intelligible and not exceeding 200
words.

Keywords: 3 to 7 keywords which are of central importance in the paper.

Main article: It should be within 2500 to 3500 words.

Introduction: It should introduce the topic with a background, supporting literature justifying the selection of the
study and also elaborate in short the objectives or questions to be answered by the study following.

Material and Methods: Please provide concise but complete information about the materials and the analytical and
statistical procedures used. This part should be as clear as possible to enable other scientists to repeat the research
presented. Brand names and company locations should be supplied for all mentioned equipment, instruments,
chemicals, etc.

Results and discussion: All experimental outcomes, observations, statistical interpretations are to be stated in the
result part. Statements from the introduction and result sections should not be repeated here. The same data or
information given in a table must not be repeated in a figure and vice versa.

Conclusion: It should not replicate the abstract in the conclusion section. It should indicate clearly advantages,
limitations, and possible applications and extensions of the study.

Data Representation:

 Tables should be reduced to the simplest form, be double-spaced, in Times New Roman font.
 Flow charts, data charts must be prepared in two dimensions, monochromes, unless required otherwise by
the data used. Charts unnecessarily prepared in 3 dimensions will be rejected.
 Images or photographs should be in monochrome, above 200 dpi and not larger than two-column width.
They should be saved in jpeg, tiff or psd format or pasted at the end of the article after the reference section
with figure number properly mentioned.
 Maps when submitted must include distance scale, necessary abbreviations and GPS information.
Equations should be written using standard symbols present in Microsoft Word.
 References: References should be given at the end of the article. Reference to a citation in the text should
be made by means of the author’s name followed by the year of publication in parenthesis. The references
in the list should be arranged alphabetically in chronological order. References should be written uniformly
as the author’s name and initials (abbreviated), the year of publication (in parenthesis), the title of the
article, the title of the book or periodical (in italics), volume number (in bold) and the page numbers.
 The copyright of all articles published in the journal will belong to Chandernagore College.

Please send your submissions in the prescribed format to dupleixjournal.cgc@gmail.com within the 10th of August,
2019. Abstracts and papers received later than this date will be taken on a rolling basis and may be
considered for later issues.
