Three Questions to Ask When Choosing

an SEO Firm...by Joel Ellegood for MetaFever.com

Many times when choosing an SEO company, the question
that comes to mind is: how long will it take to be #1?

If you choose the route of managed SEO services, or at least

considering it, than I would take some time and consider what you are getting into.

Remember, you are not simply asking someone to managed search rankings...the reputation of
your company is on the line. Never forget this.

Let’s take a look at some of the best practices to consider when making this decision:

What can you do for me?

To choose the best managed SEO service, it’s not enough to know you WANT to do SEO.
Knowing WHAT you want is just as important.

I recommend having a strong grasp on the basic and advanced concepts of SEO. No matter
what kind of project you are working on...everything from remodeling your house, to taking over
the world - both require some type of planning.

If you don’t know what you want...than how will you have an
idea of what to expect?

Does this potential SEO firm use social networking? Do they

create content...or will you develop it in house? How many
monthly links will they create?

All of these questions, plus many more, should be asked.

Are you in good hands?

No, I’m not talking about Allstate. It’s of paramount

importance to know who’s working on your website.

Does this person / firm have integrity? What are past clients
saying. If you receive more than one proposal (and I hope to
God you do)...take the time to conduct dutiful research about who is handling the reigns.
Someone who charges $500 / month vs...the mega firm charging $10,000 / month will (or
should) offer different services. You would think so anyway.

Treat your future SEO firm as a member of your team...as any descent SEO results won’t come
overnight.

And, how do you plan on doing this?

All companies sending half-way serious proposals need to be grilled about methodology and
what practices they use.

Of course every SEO firm will say you need links (practice)...but how (methodology) do they
plan on doing it? As I mentioned before...what about content? If content is still king, make sure
you have a good one.

If the firm in question merely has a list of cookie cutter services...don’t bother speaking with
them unless there is overwhelming proof and evidence of non-cookie cutter results.

I really hope the above tips have helped you, or at least you made you think differently when
choosing a managed SEO firm.

Don’t take this subject lightly.
