Position Overview
The SAP S/4HANA Technical Lead role within the SAP Transformation program team will utilise their
extensive industry best practice, business process, technical and functional knowledge, as well as proven
SAP S/4HANA implementation experience, to support the vision of the NSWPF SAP Transformation
Program.

The Technical Lead role will act as the technical representative of the business to ensure a robust, fully
integrated and practical solution. This role reports directly to the SAP Transformation Program Manager.

Job Description
The functional lead role will be required to:
 Show a high level of commitment to the NSWPF Corporate Services strategy and reform program.
 Collaborate with the SAP Program, NSWPF and vendor stakeholders to validate solution design
principles and scope to best meet the business needs within the SAP Transformation Program
guidelines.
 Provide direction, guidance and input into solution design and implementation decisions based on
their functional knowledge and technical understanding of the integrated SAP S/4HANA landscape.
 Engagement across NSWPF technical, functional and business teams, e.g. Security, Reporting and
Finance, to ensure an integrated solution design.
 Ensure that any design and implementation decisions are made with consideration to future support
and maintenance of the solution.
 Ensure that any design and implementation decisions adhere to the SAP Transformation program’s
design principles of simplification, standardisation and practical solutions.
 Demonstrate awareness of project management fundamentals such as managing scope, timelines,
tracking of deliverables, identification and management of any risks or issues.
 Demonstrate team leader capabilities to manage resources.
 Work within the SAP Transformation Program team on activities as required (solution integration, data
migration strategy, infrastructure, reporting, master data management and development) to achieve
desired outcomes and objectives.
 Contribute to status reports to the SAP Transformation Program Manager.
 Advise on downstream program activities such as training and testing.

Selection Criteria
 Extensive operational business and technical experience with a strong record of performance.
 Experience working as a technical lead on more than two significant SAP S/4HANA projects.
 Demonstrated knowledge of technical landscape and technology integration points within an SAP
S/4HANA centric landscape.
 Demonstrated ability to manage a small team.
 High level of analytical and problem-solving capability, specifically related to process identification,
documentation and review.
 Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including:
 Strong ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation.
 Strong influencing and negotiation skills with a proven record of success at both executive and
operational levels of an organisation.
 Ability to operate within the NSWPF policies, procedures and operational guidelines and obtain and
maintain the required security clearances for this position.

Program / Project Overview
SAP Transformation is a program of works with the objective to deliver process improvements across the
organisation.

Additional Program / Project Specific Selection Criteria

This role will be required to work closely with the Technical Business Process Owners (BPOs), subject
matter experts (SMEs) and interface on a regular basis with other key stakeholders from across the
NSWPF.

The role will also require close collaboration with external vendor teams engaged by the SAP
Transformation Program to deliver Business Transformation and Change, Data Migration and System
Integration.
