The Philippine Nurses Association Rizal Chapter, Inc. will be holding its 2 nd Mid-year Conference on
14 July 2019 with the theme: PNA Rizal: Addressing the Challenges in the Care of Older
Persons at St. Jacques Training Hotel, Siena College of Taytay.
In this regard, we are cordially inviting you to participate and generally be able to utilize different
strategies to enhance caring behavior towards older persons and perform comprehensive geriatric
assessment.
Specifically, the objectives of the conference are that participants be able to:
1. Recognize/ experience physical and perceptual difficulties of older persons as effects of
chronic diseases and its complications;
2. Utilize different communication strategies appropriate for the older people in the delivery of
health care;
3. Exhibit enhanced knowledge in the normal process of ageing;
4. Identify strategies to maintain wellness of older persons through lifestyle management
including physical activity, nutrition, vaccination, smoking cessation, and periodic health
assessment;
5. Discuss the nurses’ roles in care of the older people with different age-related conditions;
6. Describe in brief what is and the purpose of comprehensive geriatric assessment; and
7. Perform the comprehensive geriatric assessment based on the tool proposed by the world
health organization in determining geriatric condition.

National’s PRC-CPD provider accreditation.
