Ingersoll-Rand high dust air filters have multistage
configurations.The service instructions for each are
contained on this page.
In addition to the INTELLISYS® controller, the change
out pressure drop can be measured with a water
gauge manometer, dial gauge, or service indicator
installed in the compressor inlet system.
4. Carefully install each new element and wing nuts.

as these can cause poor efficiency and damage to
the compressor.
5. Inspect all filter connections and compressor inlet
ducting for tightness to ensure no leakage or bypass-

When the filter becomes restricted with contaminant

be used as a guide.
1.To change the filter elements, loosen the wing nut
on the end of the filter housing. Remove the primary
element. NOTE: The safety element should be
changed with every other primary element change.
2. Clean the dust from the inside of the air cleaner
with a damp cloth. Be careful to prevent contaminant
entering the compressor inlet system.
3. Clean and inspect all gaskets and sealing surfaces
for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
1.The dust cup (if applicable) should be cleaned
when 2/3 full. Frequency will vary with dust conditions.
Reinstall the dust cup, making sure it seals 360°
around the air cleaner body.
2. Light dust plugging of the tubes (if applicable) can
be removed with a stiff fiber brush. If heavy plugging
with fibrous material is evident, remove lower body
section for cleaning with compressed air or water not
exceeding 160˚ F. Never clean tubes without the pri-
mary and safety elements in place to prevent contam-
ination of the clean air system.
