BANTUG PETINES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ANTI- BULLYING POLICY

I. RATIONALE

The Department of Education as it makes its move towards the realization of the goals
and an objective of a 21st century learner is face with the advancement of technology and
information. With this, the pupils, who are very life of education, are exposed to many
advantages and disadvantage this change are offering.

The Alicia West Central School stands for the truth that every child has the right to be
protected and enjoy life as they move higher in the achievement of education and so it is the
obligation of every school to provide them with a safe and healthy environment.

The school is responsible in building its capacity to maintain a safe and healthy learning
environment by providing training of teachers and other stakeholders like the parents and the
School Pupil Government in bullying prevention, how to address incidents of bullying and the
appropriate measures to be given.

II. POLICY FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION

To ensure positive consequences to both parties involve in the incident of bullying


the following policies are to be taken into considerations:
A. Schools Prohibits the following;
1. Cyber bullying
2. Verbal bullying
3. Physical bullying

B. Pupils Engage in Bullying

1. Make it clear to the pupils that his action is not okay.


2. Make him know that he is accountable for his/ her behavior and maybe
subjected to some sanctions or disciplinary measures depending on the weight
of the incident.
3. Set up clear rules to follow through with logical consequences such as
withdrawal of some privileges when rules are not followed.
4. The Guidance Counselor shall take note of the activities of the child for the given
set of time and make sure that reward of reinforcement for any positive result
be given.
5. Limit the child’s exposure to violent television programs, video games and other
sort of technology/ media that will give chance to the pupils to bully.
6. It is the right of the pupil to ask for the confidentiality of the incidents and the
measures given.
C. Pupils Being Bullied

1. Make sure the child knows that being bullied is not his fault.
2. Encourage the child to talk about the bullying experience without the feeling of
being intimidated.
3. Listen to the child.
4. Contact the child’s parent, teacher, school guidance counselor and the principal
immediately.
5. Teach the child ways to stay safe at school such as telling an adult or person he
trust if he feels threatened.
6. Encourage the child to continue/ pursue friendship at school.
7. Make sure the child has access to phone numbers of persons who can help.
8. All incidents, measures taken are to held confidential.
