 Ramadan with the Quran; My Joy!

 You want to attain taqwa in the month of Ramadan

 You cannot attain taqwa without your heart being clean
 The Quran makes your heart clean!
o Allah will make the Quran penetrate into your heart
o After Ramadan, your jihad is to make the Quran the spring of your heart
 The Quran was your joy in the month of Ramadan, but you want an everlasting joy
 Even if Ramadan is over, you don’t need to be sad
o Your yourself in Ramadan is how you should be all the time
o You only say farewell to the month of Ramadan…but not any worship, not fasting, nothing else
 The one who worships Allah in Ramadan (only), then
Ramadan is over…
 But the one who worships Allah all the time, Allah is ever-
living, never dies
 Ramadan is like a treat – you taste a little bit of the sweetness
of the faith

You need to do 3 things now that Ramadan is getting over:

 GRATITUDE  ‫الشكر‬
o It is a worship itself
o Surah Ibrahim #7 - ‫لَئِن َش َكرْ ُت ْم ََلَ ِزيدَ َّن ُك ْم‬
 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor];
o Don’t attribute all your worship (your actions) to yourself
o Attach to the name of Allah Ash-Shaakir, Ash-Shakoor
o Don’t look at your good deeds
o Don’t feel proud of yourself
o When you know Allah, you will know that you have not done enough
o ‫ شكر‬is an action of the heart
o Any little worship you do also, it’s from Allah (He guided you & allowed you)
 FORGIVENESS / REPENTANCE  ‫االستغفار و التوبة‬
o Surah An-Nisa #106 – ‫ان غَ فُورً ا رَّ حِي ًما‬ َّ َّ‫َّللاَ ۖ إِن‬
َ ‫َّللاَ َك‬ َّ ‫َواسْ َت ْغف ِِر‬
 And seek forgiveness of Allah . Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.
o Allah is the One who forgives, expiates the sins (out of His mercy)
o He gives you the opportunity to repent
 MAGNIFY ALLAH  ‫تكبير هللا‬
o You need to magnify Allah after all your worship
o It shows that Allah is greater than any worship you have done
o This will make you humble – feel like a servant / slave of Allah
 What to do After Ramadan?

 Your journey continues after Ramadan!

o This is the real journey
o In Ramadan, everyone is doing similar things, it’s all around you
o Worship is easier during the month of Ramadan
 See yourself (the condition of your heart) right when Ramadan is over
 Sometimes you get depressed after Ramadan because you are not able to do the same amount of
worship
o You don’t have to see your actions after Ramadan
o You need to see your heart
o You need firmness in your heart after Ramadan also = ‫ال ث بات ب عد رم ضان‬
o Even when you are among people…you are attached to Allah only
o Your firmness after Ramadan will give you everlasting joy
o Firmness = stability
o Firmness gives you confidence
 Shortcut to firmness  ‫الحرص على الثبات‬
o Your concern / worry is to be keen on firmness
o Thinking all the time about yourself wanting to be firm
o You want it badly
o You are restless about it
o You feel that firmness is a big blessing that you really need, even after Ramadan
 When you have truthfulness in your heart for your religion, Allah will bring it to you
o Firmness is from the actions of Allah
o When you really want it in your heart, Allah will make you firm
o Allah will appreciate your truthfulness

Firmness mentioned in the Quran:

 Surah Ibrahim # 27
‫هللا ُ ال هظالِمِينَ ۚ َو َي ْف َعل ُ ه‬
ُ‫هللا‬ ‫ت فِي ا ْل َح َيا ِة ال ُّد ْن َيا َوفِي ْاْلخ َِر ِة ۖ َو ُيضِ ل ُّ ه‬ ‫ت ه‬
ِ ‫هللا ُ الهذِينَ آ َم ُنوا ِبا ْل َق ْو ِل ال هث‬
ِ ‫اب‬ ُ ‫ُي َث ِّب‬
‫شا ُء‬َ ‫َما َي‬
Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah
sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills.

o Allah will give you firmness during your life (in all your actions)
o Allah will give you firmness at the end of the life - time of death
o There will be so many tests at the time of your death (you cannot even imagine)
o Know Allah in the time of your ease, Allah will make your times of difficulty easy for you
 Surah Al-Baqarah #250
ُ ‫ص ْب ًرا َو َث ِّب ْت أَ ْقدَا َم َنا َوان‬
َ‫ص ْر َنا َع َلى ا ْل َق ْو ِم ا ْل َكاف ِِرين‬ َ ‫َر هب َنا أَ ْف ِر ْغ َعلَ ْي َنا‬
"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving
people."

o Keep me firm - Don’t make me turn away (turn back)

o To be victorious over the disbelievers – the Shaitaan is also a disbeliever!
o So you need firmness in your daily life to fight him
o Holding on to Allah – as if asking Him not to leave you

 Surah Al-e-Imran #147

ُ ‫اغف ِْر لَ َنا ُذ ُنو َب َنا َوإِ ْس َرا َف َنا فِي أَ ْم ِر َنا َو َث ِّب ْت أَ ْقدَا َم َنا َوان‬
َ‫ص ْر َنا َعلَى ا ْل َق ْو ِم ا ْل َكاف ِِرين‬ ْ ‫َر هب َنا‬
"Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and
give us victory over the disbelieving people."

o You want firmness on your taqwa after the month of Ramadan

o Now, you don’t want to lose what you have earned
o This world and the love for this world makes you lose your taqwa
o You don’t have that much attachment with the world during Ramadan because the Shaitaan
beautifies it for man – when he is chained then the person feels the reality of this world and the
real sweetness of the faith
o But after Ramadan, the Shaitaan is released to he will start his work
o What is the reality of this life?  Surah Al-Ahqaf #35  ‫َب َلغ‬

‫جل له ُه ْم ۚ َكأ َ هن ُه ْم َي ْو َم‬

ِ ‫س ِل َو َال َت ْس َت ْع‬ ُّ َ‫ص َب َر أُولُو ا ْل َع ْز ِم مِن‬
ُ ‫الر‬ ْ ‫َف‬
َ ‫اص ِب ْر َك َما‬
‫ار ۚ َب َل ٌغ ۚ َف َهلْ ُي ْهلَ ُك إِ هال ا ْل َق ْو ُم‬ ٍ ‫سا َع ًة ِّمن هن َه‬ َ ‫َي َر ْونَ َما ُيو َعدُونَ لَ ْم َي ْل َب ُثوا إِ هال‬
َ‫ا ْل َفاسِ قُون‬
So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers
and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are
promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This
is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?

o Why is the Duniya so beautified? Imagine the marketing kiosks when you go outside – it may be
a small item, a soap that is always on the shelves, but to finish the stock and to create a value, it
is marketed at kiosks! See big stores, they have few fixed clients so they don’t need to advertise
at all! This is the example of this worldly life! If it is not beautified and marketed, no one would
be longing for it
o A believer uses the world but does not attach his heart to the Duniya!
o Don’t let the Duniya drain you!
o All the sicknesses of the heart will occupy you if you have the Duniya in your heart
 o Surah Ar-Rum #55

‫سا َع ٍة ۚ َك َٰ َذلِ َك َكا ُنوا‬

َ ‫سا َع ُة ُي ْقسِ ُم ا ْل ُم ْج ِر ُمونَ َما لَبِ ُثوا َغ ْي َر‬
‫َو َي ْو َم َتقُو ُم ال ه‬
َ‫ُي ْؤ َف ُكون‬
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they
were deluded.
ِ‫ب ه‬
ِ ‫هللا إِلَ َٰى َي ْو ِم ا ْل َب ْع‬
ۖ‫ث‬ ِ ‫َو َقال َ الهذِينَ أُو ُتوا ا ْل ِع ْل َم َو ْاْلِي َمانَ لَ َقدْ لَ ِب ْث ُت ْم فِي ِك َتا‬
َ‫ث َو َٰلَ ِك هن ُك ْم ُكن ُت ْم َال َت ْعلَ ُمون‬
ِ ‫َف َٰ َه َذا َي ْو ُم ا ْل َب ْع‬
But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, "You remained the extent of Allah 's decree
until the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know."

َ‫َف َي ْو َمئِ ٍذ هال َين َف ُع الهذِينَ َظ َل ُموا َم ْعذ َِر ُت ُه ْم َو َال ُه ْم ُي ْس َت ْع َت ُبون‬
So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [
Allah ].
