SCHEDULE FOR FIRST IN-PERSON COUNSELLING/DOCUMENTS

CHECKING/HOSTEL ALLOTMENT (BE/BTECH)


(MODE – 1 ONLY: BASED ON JEE MAIN MERIT)
First round of In-person Counselling for Mode – 1 only seats will be held on July 10-12, 2019 as per
following schedule.
The candidates who have applied till 7th July, 2019 and are fulfilling the eligibility conditions of Mode - 1,
as laid down in Institute Prospectus, can attend the counselling.
1. The candidates who have been allotted branch during online counselling against Mode – 1 seats,
have paid the fee, and are interested to change their branch are also eligible subject to the
fulfilment of eligibility criteria of Mode – 1. Such candidates are required to pay the Hostel fee
and mess fee only.
2. The candidates who have been allotted branch during in-person counselling against Mode – 2
seats, have paid the fee, and are interested to change their branch are also eligible subject to the
fulfilment of eligibility criteria of Mode – 1. Such candidates are required to pay the Hostel fee
and mess fee only (if not paid already).
3. Further, the candidates who have withdrawn from Mode – 1/Mode-2 and also those candidates
who have not been offered branch so far can also attend the counselling as per the following
schedule. Such candidates are required to bring total fee and original documents.

Note: -
1. Candidates are required to browse website www.admissions.thapar.edu for update on vacant
seat status. Candidates reporting on 11-12th July, 2019 should check the availability of seats on
10th – 11th July, 2019 (9:00 PM) respectively before coming to the Institute.
2. Seats are available for reserved category candidates.
3. The vacant seats of reserved categories will be converted to General category on pro-rata basis
before the start of counselling for General category on 8th August, 2019.
4. No. of seats may increase depending upon number of withdrawals.
5. Candidates are advised to check vacant seats status on website before coming for counselling.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BE/BTECH ‘IN-PERSON COUNSELLING’


1. Personal presence of the candidate/authorised representative during counselling/admission is
essential for all eligible candidates seeking admission.
2. A candidate desirous of seeking admission will bring the original certificates on the scheduled
date of counselling/admission.
3. The allotment of discipline at the time of counselling/admission will be made on the basis of the
seats available in a particular discipline and category at that instance of time, the order of
preferences for various disciplines given by the candidate, and his/her merit according to JEE
Main rank. The candidates appearing for the counselling shall have the option of either retaining
the preference order given during the online counselling or can submit fresh preference order.
4. A candidate who reports late for admission during counselling will not be eligible for the
discipline according to his/her original merit position but will be offered a seat in the discipline
where the seats are available at that instance of time/day.
5. If a candidate is offered admission and he/she does not deposit the prescribed fees and original
certificate immediately after selection, the offer so made shall be treated as cancelled and the
seat will be offered to the candidate next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeal in this
regard will be entertained.

FEE TO BE PAID: Fee payable at the time of Admission (Excluding Hostel Fee) (Admission Fee + Semester
Fee):
Admission Charges (One-Time) : Rs. 22,000/-
Semester fees and other dues : Rs. 1,69,000/- for COE, COPC, COSE, COBS
: Rs. 1,59,400/- for ECE, ENC & MEE
: Rs. 1,43,700/- for others

Note: - Students who have already paid above mentioned fee (Admission Fee + Semester Fee) against
the seat allocated in Mode – 1 during online counselling or against the seat allocated in Mode – 2
during in-person counselling, are required to bring Hostel Fee and mess fee only (if not paid already)
as mentioned below.
HOSTEL FEE: Hostel will be allocated on the payment of charges as mentioned hereunder:

2. Amenities Fund (Non-Refundable) : Rs. 500/-

In addition to above, following documents are also required from the candidates, who are seeking
admissions under Punjab state quota but have done 10+2 from outside Punjab.
1. Punjab Domicile/Residence
2. Affidavit for candidates seeking admission under Punjab state quota. Format available as
annexure-15 on (https://admissions.thapar.edu/UG/FORMATS_OF_CERTIFICATES.pdf)

Commencement of Session: The session will start from July 15, 2019.
