A.UNDERSTANDING

Medical devices are instruments , aparatus, mchines, implants containing drugs, which are used to
prevent, diagnose, cure and elieve disease, treat sick peopel and improve functions body.

B. Surgery tool

 Surgical devices are medical devices that are used in surgical process commonly used in animals,
humans and so on in the healing process disease and removal of foreign objects that harm the
body

1.Types of surgical instruments :

a. .Scalpel

scaple is a knife commonly used for surgery consists of 2 forms:

 pointed ( blunt )
 bellied ( sharp )

b. Scissors

Scissors is a tool used to cut something or something object. In englis it is called scissors, in ducht it is
called schaar / scheren, whereas in german t is called scheren.

 Bandage scissors
 Ligature scissors
 Surgical scissors
 Dissecting scissors
 For obtetric purposes

c. Forceps

Forcep is a device cosisting of 2 pieces facing each other, which can controlled ( can be clamped and
released ) by the handle or by direct pressure on the chip the chip. Used to clamp, hold something.
Depends on the type of object clamped, various forceps are made, namely:

 Tweezers
 Clamp
 Pliers
d. Needle holders

Function : to clamp the sewing needle ( hechtnaald ) and sewing open wounds such as accidental
wounds such as accidntal wounds or surgery.
