THEME: “La Cultura De Pilipino”

The history of Philippine folk dancing incorporates influences from

immigrants and conquerors while at the same time maintaining distinctly Filipino

roots. Philippine folk dancing is a true reflection of daily life in past centuries while
enchanting modern audiences at the same time.

Folkloric dance is the history of the people in movement. In some cultures,

pale fragments of it survive centuries of invasions and diasporas. In the
Philippines, folk dance is a strong and enduring indigenous expression.

Before the recorded history of the Philippines, before the Spanish

conquistadors conquered and Christianized the populace, from the earliest
occupation of this volcanic archipelago, the people danced. They danced to
appease the gods, to curry favor from powerful spirits, to celebrate a hunt or
harvest, to mimic the exotic life forms around them. They danced their stories and
their shamanic rituals, their rites of passage and their remembered legends and
history.

Concept

A showcasing of our traditional Pilipino Cultural Dance by the Bansudenos in

our town, on September 15, 2019. This will be held at Bansud Sports Center,
Poblacion, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro at 6:00 pm. Each entry will consists of
10-15 members with approximately 6-8 minutes performance. Participants will
wear their prepared costumes and props.

Our Bansud Municipal Officials and our own Barangay Officials are expected
to come and join to this event.

The highlights of this Pilipino Cultural Dance are the following:

1. The program will start with the opening remarks of Hon. Ronaldo M. Morada
our Municipal Mayor of Bansud.
2. The participants will compete their best traditional or cultural dance.
3. After the presentation or competition the board of judges will choose their 5
best performer.

4. Awarding of certificates.
5. Guest performers will entertain every Bansudenos.
