This contract serves as an agreement between the faculty member and Judson College. It does not
guarantee employment but does allow the College and the faculty member to enter into agreements as
need for the services of the instructor arises. All courses are based upon enrollment numbers as
determined by the College. This contract will be effective from July 1 until June 30 of the year noted.
Pay: $100/credit hour
By acceptance of this contract, the Instructor named above understands and agrees:
1. To be employed as an adjunct faculty member of Judson College Distance Learning Program (DLP)
for the period set forth above. This appointment shall not constitute any claim for a permanent
Position, tenure, or any other benefits that accrue specifically to regular full-time members of
Judson College faculty.
2. To be in “attendance” for the above-specified time for each course through the period of final
‘examination and/or contracted start to end time, It is further agreed that the adjunct faculty
member shall submit grade(s) for all students enrolled in all courses taught by him/her to the
utilized portal, such as CAMS, within 72 hours of the date of the final exam and/or final submission.
The instructor will also email the Distance Learning Officel when the grades are submitted.
3. To submit only whole letter grades (A, B, C, D, or F). Judson does not use the +/- system. Any
instructor submitting a +/- grade (e.g. 8-) will not be compensated until the +/- is resolved.
4, That and @judson.edu email addresses will be provided to the instructor and should be used for
correspondence. The instructor is expected to read and reply to all emails from students and
Judson administrators in a timely fashion.
5. That all DL students are being advised by the Director of Distance Learning (DDL). DL instructors
may make suggestions to the DDL regarding what courses a student should consider, but all
advising must go through the Distance Learning Office. DL instructors should not engage in any
advising with students.
6. That prior to the beginning of each term, the DL office will provide instructors with their course
rosters. The instructors are expected to enroll these students in Moodle. Instructors cannot refuse
to teach a student if they are contracted to teach a course. Instructors who have issues with
students should document this information with the DL office prior to the end of their term with
that student. The Instructor will also enroll the DDL as a “teacher” in each class taught.
7. That he/she will provide feedback to the student after submission of assignments. This feedback
should be done in a reasonable time and it should assist the student in learning the course material.To teach the course(s) assigned according to the specifications and direction provided by the
Director of Distance Learning and Department Chairperson. The appointee further agrees to comply
with all official College regulations, directives, and policies published or other official statements of
the College. The instructor also accepts the Distance Learning Manual.
The instructor will provide a syllabus to the student within 48 hours of the start of the course. This
should be done via Moodle, The instructor must also, within 7 days of the beginning of the term,
Provide a copy to the DL Office via email. This must be done each semester the course is taught
and for each course taught. Instructors will not be compensated until this is complete.
That the instructor will require the student submit a photo of themselves to Moodle as the “first
ment” within the first 7 days of the class. The instructor will notify the ODL when the student
hhas submitted this photo so it can be compared to their photo on record to verify a 2 level
‘authentication to SACS,

11. That all courses will utilize Moodle to present course material. Instructional material, such as the
syllabus and calendar, documentation for assignments/rubrics, and gradebooks must be kept in
Moodle. This is needed to cover the College from any liability. Use of other technology, such as
mymathlab or myspanishlab, is permitted provided the login information is kept up to date in the
Distance Learning Office. The students should be provided with links in Moodle. Classes will NOT
be conducted only by email, only by Skype, or any other arrangement not approved, in writing, by
the Director of Distance Learning,
12, That the Director of Distance Learning reserves the right to review all classes. The Director of
Distance Learning also reserves the right to suggest/require changes to the course structure,
delivery method, etc. before the instructor is contracted to teach a specific course.
13. That this contract is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check investigation as
determined at the sole discretion of the College. The employee authorizes the College to conduct a
Criminal background history investigation before employment and at any time during employment.
14, To return a signed copy of this contract to the Director of Distance Learning within one week of
receipt. The instructor is advised to keep a copy for their records.
15. That they have watched and understood the most recent DL Training Video and completed DL 101,
in Moodle at some point in their time of service to Judson.
