Foreword
This standard is based on the provisions of Article 12, paragraph 1 which is applied mutatis
mutandis pursuant to Article 14 of the Industrial Standardization Act. (JSSA) / The Japan
Standards Association (JSA) has proposed that the Japanese Industrial Standards should
be amended with the draft Industrial Standards. After the deliberation of the Japan Industrial
Standards Research Committee, the Japanese Industrial Standards revised by the Minister
of Economy, Trade and Industry.

As a result, JIS G 4303: 1998 is amended and replaced by this standard.

The following types of symbols in this standard may apply to the use of the following patent
rights:

Stainless steel bar

1. Scope of application This standard is a rod or plate formed by hot-finishing stainless steel into
a round, square, hexagonal and flat plate. Of round-shaped products (round steel, square steel,
hexagonal steel and flat steel are generically referred to as bars hereinafter).

2. Standards cited The standards listed in Appendix 1 constitute part of the requirements of this
standard by being cited in this standard. Do. These cited standards apply to the latest version
(including the supplements).

3. Types of symbols There are 61 types of bars, and the types of symbols and classifications are
according to 1.
