Anyone here who can define what a speech
is?
Ma’am, a speech is a way of communicating
or expressing one’s thought through spoken
words.

A Speech is a formal talk which is delivered
to an audience, and speech have different
kinds. Can you give me one, ________?
Ma’am, one kind of speech is Informative
speech.
Very good! An informative speech is a
speech intended and to share new ideas and
build perceptions. As well as, giving the
audience a new understanding or new
appreciation about certain topic.
Another kind is persuasive speech in which
its intention is to convince the listeners of the
validity of the speaker’s topic
And the last kind of speech is?
Ma’am, the last kind of speech is
argumentative speech.
Good! Argumentative speech is intended to
change the reader’s mind by convincing him
or her to agree with the speaker’s point of
view.
Now, have you noticed some of the people
who lost their loved ones giving speeches to
their late relatives?
Yes, ma’am.
What do you call that speech?
Ma’am, we call do that Eulogy.
Very good.
A Eulogy is a speech given at a memorial or
funeral service. It can be delivered by a
family member, close friend, priest, minister
or celebrant and it commemorates and
celebrates the life of the deceased.
And remember that a eulogy is a speech not
only to praise a person but also a special
animal or entity/institution that has passed
on.
What do you think are things to be included
in a eulogy?
Ma’am, I think the things should be included
are:
 Sentiments for whom you dedicate
your eulogy
 Happier times with the deceased
 Include anecdotes and real-life
experiences
 Nothing that might be considered
offensive or vulgar

about that certain person or animals.
