Silver Game Guide

All the women of Jarrah have been taken captive by the vile sorcerer, Silver. He is looking for the perfect consort,
or so he told his children. His plans are far more diabolical than anyone can imagine. He wishes to form an
alliance with the dark god, Apocalypse, and his children have no clue as to what is really going on. His son,
Fuge, stands by him and follows all orders to the letter. His daughter, Glass, is a little more pragmatic. She is not
so foolhardy and even holds a grudge against her father for killing her mother.
Now that you know the enemy, it is time to learn of good guys. David is the leader of the small group. His wife,
Jennifer, was taken captive by Fuge, and he vowed revenge. He is a warrior at heart, with strong ideals and an
even stronger heart. Over the course of his travels he meets up with five other heroes like himself who vow to help
him until the end. These are Sekune, Vivienne, Jug, Cagen and Chiaro. Together, the six of them vow to put an
end to Silver's ironfisted rule.
The heroes travel through various realms that differ from each other like night from day. They go to the land of
the dead, an arctic land, a vile swamp and even to a cathedral at the bottom of the sea! Over the course of their
travels they collect many weapons and artifacts, all of which will be put to use. Using these, they will have to
fight monsters both great and small, including a pair of dragons!
The game hosts beautifully made backgrounds and wonderful music. It even sports a full-voice script (which I
couldn't listen to, due to driver conflicts with Windows 2000), which is both entertaining and interesting. It is
hard to find time to get bored (unless you are waiting to recharge your special moves), since there is fast-paced
action everywhere.
This game originally came out for the PC, and was of no interest to me. This all changed when the Dreamcast
release was announced and the demo came out. I fell in love with the game immediately and decided to write a
guide on it. I used the PC version of the game for this guide, but both versions are identical in story, weapons and
tactics. I will include instructions for both versions in the magic and combat sections of the guide.
Anyway, you may want to get to the meat of the guide at this moment, so I'll stop rambling now and say goodbye,
and see you next time!

Silver Game Guide

Characters
There are six heroes in the game that you will have the chance to play with. The six of them are going to be
described here. Included in each entry is a brief list of tactics that should be used for each of them, as well as what
they are particularly good at.

David
David is a headstrong soldier that vows revenge on Silver for kidnapping his wife. He is the leader of
the band and a very influential member of the rebels.
David is a well rounded character. He is a good fighter, mage and archer, but he is not the best in any
of the three fields. He is best used as a front-line fighter who can use magic in a tight situation. he is
with you the entire game, so get used to his strengths and weaknesses as early on as possible. His
favorite weapons are the Dual Knightly Swords. He does extra damage when using them.

Sekune
Sekune is the first person to join David's band. She joins as David's partner when attacking rain.
Sekune is an archer, there is no doubt about it. She has incredible speed and accuracy, as well as an
uncanny power with the projectiles. She is best armed with any ranged weapon, especially the bows,
and later, the Glaive. When forced to she can be a passable spellcaster. When out of ammo and
magic points, send her to the front with the rest of your heroes - but watch out to her health, since it
tends to deplete quickly.

Vivienne
Vivienne is a friend of David's. She is a strong warrior with moderate spellcasting ability. She is
another great front-line fighter whose favorite weapon is the Bastard Sword, which she wields with
incredible skill. Never underestimate her - she tends to survive most situations that lays the others
low. She has moderate skill with ranged weapons and magic, so she should just stick to melee
weapons.

Jug
Jug is a very powerful warrior that you meet in the Rainbow End Tavern. He is best suited to
using melee weapons at all times, especially his favorite weapon, the War Hammer. When
needed to use spells, he is better off using the Ice Wand, Fire Sword, or Lightning Staff, since
his spells lack both number of uses and power. He is a passable archer, but should never drop
his shield and weapon. He has a high strength, armour class and hit points, so it is hard to get
him down! He is a larger target than the others, but that doesn't harm him any. It is a good
idea to keep this staunch ally with you at all times - both to deal huge amounts of damage,
and to defend your other heroes.

Silver Game Guide

Cagen
Cagen is a monk that was away from the Monastery when the well was poisoned. He joins the
group to get revenge on Silver.
Being a monk, Cagen is great at unarmed fighting, but later in the game you'll find him needing
more striking power. At that time it's good to give him a Mace. Cagen is a great spellcaster, second
only to Chiaro. He can use many spells before running out of magic points. With his abilities the
way they are spread about, it's a good idea to have him around only until you get Chiaro.

Chiaro
Chiaro was Reuben's apprentice and joins your group upon hearing of his master's death. Welcome
him with open arms, for he is the best spellcaster in the game! He has alot of magic points and great
power behind every spell that he casts. He is a weak fighter, however, and should stay out of harm's
way. When out of magic to use, he should equip a ranged weapon instead. Due to his large pool of
magic points, he is a great character to have around at all times.

Combat and Controls

Combat is at the core of Silver. More often than not, you'll find yourself in a situation where you have only your
weapons to rely on. This section is dedicated to hand-to-hand combat and ranged combat.

Basic Moves
There are several basic moves that you should learn before you set out on your adventure. The first is the very
basic slash - the hero simply slashes with the sword. This is done by left-clicking on an enemy, or holding the
Trigger (Control on the keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players) and pressing the Attack button (left
mouse button, or the A button on the Dreamcast Controller). While holding the Trigger (Control on the keyboard,
or the R button for Dreamcast players), you can't move from the spot you are standing in. Dreamcast players can
also just press the A button to attack.
The next two moves are side slashes. With these you can attack a 120 degree angle to the left or right. Hold the
Trigger (Control on the keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players), and move to the left or right with the
mouse or control stick to do this move.
The lunge is the next move. With it you'll double the reach of your weapon. Hold the Trigger (Control on the
keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players), and move up with the mouse or the control stick.
The last basic weapon technique is the backslash. You'll do a 180 and slash any enemies behind you. Hold the
Trigger (Control on the keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players) and move the mouse or control stick
down.
Now's the time to learn how to use the shield. The shield can be set in front of you by holding the Trigger
(Control on the keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players) and holding the Defense button (right mouse
button, or the B button on the Dreamcast Controller).
You can dodge blows by pressing the Trigger (Control on the keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players)
and tapping the Defense button (right mouse button, or the B button on the Dreamcast Controller), while not
using a shield.
Ranged weapons and magic can be used by simply designating a target with the mouse and clicking the Attack
button (left mouse button), or by hitting shift to cycle through the possible targets. Holding the Trigger (Control

on the keyboard, or the R button for Dreamcast players) will keep the selected hero stationary. For Dreamcast
players - you have to hold the L button and press the R button to cycle through all the possible targets.

Special Moves
Special moves can either be learned from other people or from various scrolls that you find on your quest. They
have to be recharge after using them, but you can use all of them at a time, if you want. You have to equip them
from the ring menu. Special moves are used by holding in the Trigger (Control on the keyboard, or the R button
for Dreamcast players) and holding in the Attack button (left mouse button, or the A button on the Dreamcast
Controller).

Team Combat
Team combat is difficult to get used to. It is hard to keep track of everything that is happening and it is easy to try
things with the wrong hero selected.

On the PC
By holding the left mouse in, you can make a box that groups all the heroes within. You can then command them
all at the same time (they use whatever weapons or spells they are equipped with and target the selected target, or
others in the close vicinity. Note: Only the selected hero can use special moves. Holding ALT and clicking on a
hero will add him/her to the group.
You can switch between them by pressing Tab (cycles through all characters, single or in a group). The number
keys 1-3 can also be used, but this discards any groups that were formed. The ~ key can be used to select all
heroes. To set the amount of shots that you might wish to fire automatically, use the F5, F6, F7 and F8 keys to
select 1, 3, 5, or an infinite amount of shots, or uses of magic. Fire a shot, then switch heroes to begin the process.
On the Dreamcast
As with the PC version, only the selected hero can use special moves. You can cycle through your heroes by
pressing to the left or right on the control pad. There must be a way to add them to the group by pressing another
button, but it isn't given in the manual. Like the PC version, all heroes in the selected group target the selected
opponent. It is possible to tell your characters to automatically fire 1, 3, 5, or an infinite amount of ammo (this
includes spells) at a selected target, until the number is hit, or the target dies. Press the Y button during combat to
select the number of attacks you wish to make, then fire a single shot, and switch heroes to have the rest of the
shots fired off.

Magic
Magic is indispensable to your survival in the world of Jarrah. There are eight magic orbs to be found, and all but
two have six different variations - three levels of power, each with a ranged version and a personal version.
Magic is cast by equipping the relevant orb, selecting the level that you wish to use, and finding the right target
(same targeting system as for using ranged weapons). Every spell drains a certain amount of magic points. Magic
points slowly regenerate over time. The more that use the orbs, the higher the levels that they get to be, even if
you don't use the particular orb. When an orb gains a level, all characters benefit from it, so you don't have to
raise everyone's skill with them.
It is a good idea to keep the magic levels at 1 or 2 for most of the game, otherwise you won't be able to use it too
often. Level 3 magic tends to drain your reserves. In the PC version, you switch levels by pressing the F1, F2, or
F3 keys. On the Dreamcast, use the X button to cycle through the magic levels for each orb.
Personal magic is cast by targeting the caster. The spell will then affect an area around the caster - the higher the
level, usually the larger the radius. Dreamcast players must hold both the R button and the A button (like a special
move) to cast these spells.

Fire Magic
Level 1: Shoots a single fireball at the target. Minimal tracking.
Level 2: Shoots a single fireball at the target. Much more accurate - Hits some moving targets.
Level 3: Shoots a much larger fireball that explodes on impact.
Level 1 Area: A ring of flames come into being around the caster.
Level 2 Area: Scorching heat burns everything around the caster.
Level 3 Area: Several fireballs fall from the sky and strike everything near the caster.

cast.

Walkthrough
This walkthrough is meant as a step by step guide to the game. Landmarks that appear on the map (received later
in the game) appear in capital letters for easy reference. It is pretty straightforward and easy to follow. Each of the
major parts of the game has its own section. Descriptions of each major area follows the title of the section, but
only for the first time that the place is visited. This includes special locations and places of interest.
Another thing to note is that I stop giving detailed descriptions of each battle as I get further into the game. It is
my belief that you should be handle these as well as I can by the time you get there. I do help with every boss
battle and may give pointers for really difficult situations. The choice of using melee weapons, magic, magical
items, or ranged weapons in each individual situation is up to you. I will not tell you how to kill the enemies,
unless there is a specific weakness I wish to point out. The game is possible to beat without using magic or
ranged weapons, but I strongly suggest that you find some tactics that work well for you particularly. I managed
to get through the game using only magic and melee weapons for the better part of the game. For further pointers
regarding combat and magic, please refer to their respective sections.
The game is easiest when you give your characters time to heal and recharge between battles. This is particularly
important later in the game when all enemies are very strong. When doing this, you want to recharge all lost
magic points, magical items and special moves. This includes healing your characters when you have the Healing
Orb. This takes time and gets boring, so plan on having a good book by the computer or Dreamcast while doing
this. This is really useful to do before a boss and before saving the game.
My choice of characters was based on trying new people out, while keeping the better one in the party. Don't feel
like you have to take the same characters that I did - use any of them that you want!
Well, anyway, on to the walkthrough!

Good Books
As for some good reading, try anything by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Douglas Niles and R.A. Salvatore
for some good fantasy. Any Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms is good too.
As for some particulars, I have just read and enjoyed Mel Odom's Threat From the Sea trilogy (1000 pages of
pure excitement), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's Dragons of a Fallen Sun and Jean Rabe's Downfall. The
latter two are available in hardcover in most bookstores. The trilogy is in paperback (as of July 17th, 2000). Jean
Rabe's Dawning of a Fifth Age trilogy is the prequel to her newest epic.

Silver Game Guide

The Adventure Begins

The adventure begins on the island of Verdante, where there is a town of the same name. Besides the town, there
are several other places that you should be aware of. There is a swamp around the Monastery in the northwest
and the homes of three of the game's heroes - David, Vivienne and Chiaro. There is a Harbour in town, as well as
a food merchant and an armsdealer in the Barracks.

The game starts off with a little sparring match between David and his grandfather. Here you will learn all the
basic moves in the game (refer to the combat section of the guide for more details). During your mock battle,
David's wife, Jennifer, comes out to do the laundry. A few minutes later, Fuge arrives with several of his men and
takes Jennifer away, to become one of his father's bridal candidates. He leaves a pair of his soldiers for you to
fight and makes a run for the harbor.
The two soldiers that he leaves behind should be easy prey for you, if you learned those techniques that you were
shown. Otherwise, try the ones that you know and just hack at them, while using your shield to block. When the
two soldiers have been killed, head down and you'll see your prey running off the screen further to the south.
Here you will have to kill several more soldiers before making it to town. In town, you'll be attacked by five
soldiers, but as always, they are easy prey. Go left and to the Harbour. Here you'll see that the ships are already
gone, and an old couple will tell you that some men were headed to Haven to gather in numbers and then to head
out to retrieve their wives and daughters.
Leave the Harbour and go right. Right before you get to the end of the screen, you will see a Chronicler, to whom
you can tell your story and save your game. But be warned, Chroniclers can only be used once to save your game!
Leave the area and in the next one you will be attacked by several more soldiers. Kill them, then head east and
you will be attacked by several more. Here they come in waves - make sure you kill the few that attack you
before more come! You are now in the Barracks, where you can buy food from the merchant (as well as weapons
later in the game). Head east to leave town. There is a second Chronicler here, as well as the bridge to Haven.
Save your game and cross the bridge.

The Rebels
Haven is home to the rebels and the Oracle. Later you can buy potions from Dr. Buzuki at the base of the Oracle
and save your game with a permanent Chronicler at the base of the Rebel Camp. You can get to most of the other
lands from Haven, including Verdante, Rain, the Library of Gno and Winter. You will also find the Plague Fields
later in the game, but that isn't for a while.

Haven's gates block those of evil intent from passing through, or so says your grandfather. You'll be attacked by
five soldiers, so quickly run through the gate and witness the death of the soldier that tries to follow. Yummy.
Head east, then west to get to the area just south of the rebels' camp. Here you will be ambushed by the rebels,
and then led to their camp that is atop the ladders.
The rebels tell you of a really strong telescope in the Library of Gno. With it you will be able to see the ships, as
well as their location. Talk to the pair of men fighting on the west side to learn the Web of Death. Pick up the
torch that is next to the fire. Now you can leave the camp and head east to find the entrance to the cave that leads
to the library. Equip the torch and walk into the cave to have a little encounter with a kid with a big horn. Save
your game and exit the cave via the passage on the left.

Silver Game Guide

The Library of Gno

The Library of Gno is a veritable maze of shelves. It is populated by imps, through whom you have to fight
through to make it to the Observatory at the top. There is also a set of caverns beneath the library, which is home
to a minor demon. There is a door in the Library Entrance that can only be opened later in the game with the
Gold Key. Behind it you'll find the Hurricane special move, as well as a Scroll of Golem Summoning.

You'll find yourself outside of the library. You see several small red imps as they run into the bastion and shut the
doors behind themselves. Batter the doors down and enter the library. Right away you will see an old professor
beset upon by those imps. Kill them quickly (they are rather puny) and the professor will tell you that your goal is
in the Observatory, but first you will need to aid Teronus with his little imp problem. Go up the stairs and to the
left. Watch as the professor leaves the place, and go down the hall.
Walk down both flights of stairs and watch as the yellow imp runs from you. At this moment red imps will pour
out of both exits from this room - at the top and the bottom of the stairs. Kill them quickly and save your game
when the Chronicler appears. Leave through the bottom door.
There is a swarm of red imps to be killed here. Then head south and into a room with another swarm of the
things. Here you'll find two that use Catapults (slingshots in reality), so you'll have to watch out for the ranged
attacks too. Kill the one that is using one from the ground, then equip it and deal with the one on the shelves. Kill
the rest of the critters, then talk to Einstein, a smart looking imp, then go up the stairs. You'll find yourself in a
small hallway where a couple of imps run off. Kill the imp on the treasure chest, then open it up to find some
bread and gold. Pick up the cheese that one of the imps dropped, then save your game before leaving through the
north door.
You'll find yourself on a narrow ledge about twenty feet up in the air. Here you'll fight the worse imps yet - those
that can fly! Try and get them before they hit you - you'll have to pay attention to the shadows beneath them, as
well as their position near you. Try to strike where you think they will be next. The large right and left slashes are
useful here, since they hit a large area. Backslashes are good for it too. After you are done with them, follow the
ledge and leave the area.
As soon as you enter the next area, you will see a bunch of imps scare off another professor. They all run to the
south. Head south and into the next room. There are alot of imps to kill here, as well as a wizard imp that keeps
summoning more! Kill it first and then deal with the rabble. Talk to the professor, then leave by the way you
entered the room. Equip your Catapult and head east. Kill the pair of imps on the shelves, then kill the ones that
come from both sides with your sword. Then climb the eastern steps.
When you enter the next room, you'll see one of the yellow imps make a report to a wizard imp. He then teleports
to safety when you get to the bottom of the stairs. Attack the wizard imp before he has too much time to summon
red imps. When you have killed them all, open the chest to get some bread, cheese, gold and a health potion. Then
go back up the stairs and the spiral stairs. Leave the room via the northern exit.
Watch as the yellow imp speeds away and open the chest for two apples, some bread, cheese and gold. Then save
your game and head east. You'll finally corner the yellow imp, Slink, in the next room. He promises to give you
his treasure if you show him some mercy. Kill the red imps and the soldier imp that are in the room, while
protecting Slink from harm. If you are too slow, he'll dart up the stairs and alarm a wizard imp, and you'll have
more imps to protect him from. If he dies, reload your last game. If he lives, follow him from the room.
Slink leads you to a small room with two imp soldiers. Kill them and head to the north. Slink grabs a potion and
then runs away. He leaves you with a chest full of food. When you open it, red imps appear and you have to kill
them. Pick up your treasure, and save your game. Return to the room where you cornered Slink to corner him
again. He drinks the potion and grows! He stomps his feet every couple of seconds causing a shockwave that will
damage you for only a couple points. Use you lunge to kill him the quickest. Exit the room via the door atop the
stairs.

Your first mini-boss. And an easy one too!

In the next room you'll finally meet Teronus. He zaps a trio of imps, then tells you that to get the telescope
working, you have to kill a demon and start the boilers. He then tells you to follow him up some stairs, where he
gives you the Ice Wand and teleports David and himself to the Library Entrance. Grandpa takes the stairs. Guess
who's waiting for you when you reappear? None other than Fuge. Your grandfather attacks him and dies. Quickly
run to the northeast and through the formerly sealed hallway.
From here head east and pick up the magic potion. Then return to the last room. Now head down the stairs and
you'll find yourself outside. Attack the imps with your Catapult, and kill the one with the horn. If he spots you,
he'll summon more imps to do battle with you. Save your game after the battle.
Head through the eastern door and kill the two imps that attack you. A horn imp runs by and summons some of
his friends - two waves of flying imps. Head east after you have killed them. In the next room kill the soldier imp
and his cohorts. Open the chest, take the treasure, then return outside and take the western door.
In the next room you'll be attacked by all sorts of enemy imps. Just kill them all with the Ice Wand and head into
the eastern door. Go to the northeast and into the elevator. Teronus pulls the lever and down you go! You'll find
yourself in the Caves.

What a beautiful telescope! And all gold too...

You'll arrive just in time to watch some imps exit from a hidden door in the boiler. Enter it and talk to the janitor
inside to get the Silver Key. Leave and then head to the west. Go down the stairs and kill the three rock golems
that you find. Use the Ice Wand to get them from a distance, but remember that after a couple a uses, it has to
recharge. Then save your game and enter the door at the bottom.
In the following room, you'll be attacked by several rock golems. A wizard imp keeps re-animating them if you
kill them, so pay attention and kill it first. You can even attack it when it is invisible! Then kill all the golems
with the Ice Wand and your sword. Then exit through the right door. Upon entering, you will meet Dr. Buzuki
and hi imp friend, Frink. Open the northern door with your Silver Key and get the chaos potion from within. Then
return to the last junction and head into the left door.

The Demon is a strong opponent that can only be damaged by the Ice Wand.

Head down two areas - going through eight or nine golems - and save your game before heading into the small
doorway. Two red imps summon the demon before your very eyes. Kill the two imps, then equip the Catapult and
fire a stone at the demon. It'll do zero damage and it'll laugh at you. Pull out your Ice Wand and fire at it to make
it hurt. Then hide behind the rock. The demon shoots fireballs at you that deal either a little or a lot of damage, so
be prepared to heal if you need to. Watch out for the red imps that appear every few seconds - they live to annoy
you. It takes four or five shots to kill the demon. When you've killed it, you'll gain a level and reinforcements will
arrive a second too late. You'll all go to the top floor and use the telescope to discover that the ship is going to
Rain. The whole party heads to the Rebel Camp, then to Rain, where they are split into pairs. Sekune is paired
with David.

Silver Game Guide

The Streets of Rain

Over the course of the game you will make several trips through the city of Rain. It is always raining here, as the
name suggests. The Tower of Othias can be found here, as well as the Rainbow End Tavern, the sewers,
Thaddeus' Tower and the prison know as Chains. Now is the time to learn how to do battle in a group. Use your
time wisely and make sure that you have a firm grip of the controls by the time that you reach Othias' Tower.

With your new partner in tow, run through the gate to the north and kill the two guards to get some arrows and a
Broadsword (refer to the combat section for information on combat with multiple characters). Equip the sword to
David and give his old sword to Sekune, then save your game. Note: You don't have to follow this part
step-by-step - I am running you into all the large battles on purpose! You need the practice, and I really mean
that!
Go south and you'll find yourself at a four-way intersection with a trio of guards. Attack them with the Ice Wand
and Sekune's Short Bow, and if they get close, switch to your two swords. Then take the northern road. In the
next area, you'll have to fight two guards on the ground and two guards on top of an overpass, who can only be
killed by ranged weapons. Kill the bottom two with the Ice Wand and Sekune's Short Bow, then take either of
them and kill the two archers. You can use the wall in the bottom right corner for cover. Once they are dead,
proceed to the south. Here you will have to fight some more guards, archers and a captain. While the captain is
alive, more and more guards will come to fight you. Use Sekune to kill the two archers with her Short Bow, and
then attack the guards. David should focus on the captain, then the guards that will inevitably be there. The gate at
the end of the road is locked until later in the game. Return to the intersection.
Now head right and you'll see a rebel lying on the ground. When you get close to him, he'll tell you that he is bait
for a trap! Some guards run out at you from the buildings, and two archers start firing on you from the windows.
Have Sekune deal with the troublesome archers, then switch to her sword and attack any remaining soldiers that
David hasn't killed. Pick up the stuff they dropped, then return to the junction and head south. Here you will run
afoul of guards again, and a little bit into the fight archers arrive on the scene. Deal with them and save your game
when the Chronicler appears. Take the right path.
You will have your first run in with a watchdog here. They can dodge ranged weapons by jumping aside, so they
can be difficult to kill from a distance. Fire on it before it notices you, then close and finish it off with your melee
weapons. Then kill the guard, and the host of reinforcements that follow. Then exit in the bottom right corner. In
the next area, guards will attack you as soon as you reach the middle. They surround you, but shouldn't be too
difficult to kill. Head north and you'll spot a guard on a staircase. Shoot him down, then kill the pair of watchdogs
and the trio of guards that appear. Save your game, then head north.
You'll find yourself at a three-way intersection with a staircase on the right. There are two guards here that you
should be able to take out without a hitch. Head south and attack the captain and his guards. The captain throws
knives at you, so be ready to pick them up at the end of the fight. Return to the last intersection and head west.
Kill all the guards, then continue south. Here you'll find another barred gate, but this time there is a bell in the
area. Return to the intersection and head up the stairs. Kill all the guards here, then head south. An old lady is
surrounded by guards here. They are taunting her with the fate of her son, Jimmy. Kill them quickly and then deal
with the reinforcements that arrive. When everything is done, she'll ask you to look for her son. She gives you his
favorite Teddy Bear to help you find him. Head west and then take a right on the next screen. Here you will fight
several guards and a pair of watchdogs. Kill the first two guards with ranged weapons, and then the right
watchdog. Now it is time to move in with both characters and attack the last watchdog and guard. Save your
game, then head north.
Here you'll find the Tower of Othias, which is wizard-locked. The galleon which was headed here is now gone.
Everyone returns to the Rebel Camp, where Frink awaits you and tells you to go to the Oracle. There you find out
that you will need eight magic orbs to beat Silver. The first one is in the Tower of Othias and David gets a Magic
Horn that will allow him to bypass the wizard-locked doorway. The Duke will give you a map that lets you travel
to visited landmarks. Buzuki gives you a Gas Cloud Vial, if you tell him that your are interested. For your

Silver Game Guide

convenience there is now a permanent Chronicler at the base of the Rebel Camp.

The Tower of Othias

The Tower of Othias has only one important feature - the green imps. This is a source of infinite cash that you
might have to tap later in the game.

Use the world map to return to the Tower of Othias (use the status screen from the Backpack to find the map).
Enter the tower. The first thing you'll notice is a bunch of imps dancing around. Kill them and they'll sometimes
drop bags of cash. They constantly respawn when you return to the tower, so it makes an excellent place to get
money! Leave this area via the north hall.
In the next room you will meet Othias. He willingly gives you the Fire Orb, and he tells you to take a look
through his treasure chest. There is a scroll that teaches you the Reaper special move, a Potion of Enchanted
Armour, a Steel Key and a second Broad Sword. I strongly suggest collecting some cash and trying out your new
move at this point. Equip David with the Fire Orb, and start attacking those imps.
At this point in the game, you have several important places to keep note of. The Barracks in Verdante has two
important features - you can buy food (apples, cheese, bread and carrots) and projectiles (knives and arrows)
there. This makes it a very important place for you to take note of. A second place is the Oracle - you can buy
potions there. You should always make sure that you have enough arrows, food and health potions to survive. A
third thing to know is the location of the permanent Chronicler. He stays at the bottom of the ladders leading to
the Rebel Camp.

Vivienne and the Fire Elemental

The next part of the game is dedicated to the search for two more characters. The first is Vivienne and she lives
near to David's House.

If you explore everywhere that you have been, you will find nothing new, except for at David's House. There you
find six sprites rifling through your things. Attack the three lower ones with fire, then get the next three when
they start running down towards you. Go right after the fight. Get ready to kill two waves of three sprites, then
four treants. The treants are large trees that attack you and deal major damage. Use fire magic to kill them, or the
lunge - otherwise you can't kill them too easily. Exit north (don't head east unless you want to die). Here you'll
see some guards running from David's friend Vivienne's place. Kill the giant bees and the two bears and go exit
on the right. Climb the cliff before you and kill the two watchdogs at the top. Enter the cottage and meet
Vivienne. She tells you that her sister was taken and that she wants to get her back. You now have three party
members. Equip her, then head west twice. Here you'll find the mayor of Rain for some reason or another. He
tells his guards to attack, then runs to the northwest. He drops the City Key. Pick it up then save your game.
Exit where the mayor ran off to. Here you will be attacked by fire sprites. Don't use fire magic on them! Instead
use arrows, special moves and the Ice Wand. Exit on the west side when they are dead, but make sure that you are
healed first.

The Fire Elemental arrives to roast you. Use the Ice Wand.

Here you will the fight the Fire Elemental. He is extremely annoying and takes forever to kill, since you have to
constantly wait for the Ice Wand to recharge. Equip David with it and just ignore the other two and let them die,
but nowhere near the bottom burnt log. Make sure that the log is always between him and the Fire Elemental. The
Fire Elemental will pop out of the holes in the ground and toss two fireballs at a time. Just make sure you are on
the other side of the log. If you stay near the bottom of the log, you will be able to shoot over it with the Ice
Wand. Sometimes it summons one to three fire sprites to attack you. Finish them off quickly, then get ready for
the Fire Elemental's reappearance. The Fire Elemental has over 800 hit points, so it could take a while to finish it
off. Once it does die, everyone will regain all lost health and gain a level. Save your game, then head north. You'll
find your path blocked by a wall of fire, and the Fire Tree will be added to the map. Now go to the Raingate.

A Tavern at the End of the Rainbow?

With the City Key in hand you can explore a new part of Rain. You'll find the Rainbow End Tavern there, where
you will get an assortment of goods and a new party member.

When in Rain, go to the four-way intersection and head north, and then south. Open the gate, then go through it.
There is a walkway above with a few thugs walking along it. Take them out quickly, and wait for the
reinforcements to arrive from both the top and the bottom of the steps. Pick up the stuff that they dropped, then
head to the top of the walkway and exit at the end of it. Equip David with the Fire Orb, then have him walk
around the crates and fire at the thugs standing there, as well as the pair of reinforcements that arrive. Exit at the
bottom right. Kill the thugs, and then head north. On the next screen kill the thugs and pick up the scroll to learn
the Cleaver special move. Now head up. Kill the thugs on the next screen, then head south. Kill the thugs and
watchdogs, then save your game and leave by the right road.
The next area houses the Rainbow End Tavern. Kill the pirates that attack you, then enter the place. Buy the Fire
Sword from Randalph for 100 gold pieces. Buy the Cursed Doubloon from the pirate in the lower right and get
the bell code from Albert on the far left (I'll repeat the code later on). Now talk to the bartender and then have
Vivienne talk to Jug (last man in the place that you haven't spoken to) and a small brawl will start and he'll offer
to join the party. Send Sekune home, and equip everyone - Battleaxe, Fire Sword and Fire Orb. Then leave the
tavern. Restock on supplies and save the game at the Rebel Camp Then head to the Oracle and leave through the
bottom. Go through the gate to enter the land of Winter.

Winter and the Ice Orb

Winter is an arctic wasteland housing Glass' Palace, home of Silver's sorceress daughter. The Ice Orb is beneath
the palace in the Ice Caves.

The first thing that you have to do here is open the gate with the Steel Key that you got from Othias. As you are
crossing both sets of battlements, you'll be attacked by two sets of three ice wyverns. Use fire magic to kill them,
and then exit on the right. Kill the four guards on the battlements, pick up the battleaxe, and then go down the
stairs and attack the two snow leopards. Save your game, and then go into the Ice Caves.
In the first part of the caves you will fight some purple yetis and another ice wyvern. Kill them with fire magic,
pick up the roast rats, and then head south. The next room has some guards, yetis and ice sprites for you to kill.
Then head east and into the next room. Climb down the stairs and kill the three yetis that appear at the landing.
Then go down the rest of the stairs, heal up, and open the door.
An Ice Giant emerges and attacks you. Attack with the Fire Sword and Fire Magic. Kill the little warriors that it
summons and get your magic points back by grabbing the little blue orbs. Then continue wailing on him. When
he dies (he has about 700 HP), he'll drop stalactites on your heads, killing any hero close to him. Then they all
heal again and gain a level. Now head into the door.
You'll find yourself in a tomb with the Ice Orb. Get it and a runner will arrive telling you to return to the Library
of Gno. There, he tells you, a professor awaits with possible information concerning the other orbs. Save your
game and head to the Library Entrance.

Silver Game Guide

With fire magic and the Fire Wand, the Ice Giant is a simple obstacle to overcome.

Lower Rain
To get to Spires you must first find a submarine. A necromancer named Thaddeus has one and he lives in Lower
Rain. But beware - you have to kill a werewolf to get to him!

The professor tells you of the Orb of Healing and the cathedral called Spires. Unfortunately, both of them have
sunk to the bottom of the sea. He tells you to seek the necromancer Thaddeus and get his submarine. Thaddeus
lives in Lower Rain. So head to the Tower of Othias with at least 50 gold pieces.
Go down, down, left, left and down again to get to the bell and gate. Ring it three times in a row (the clapper
should never be still when doing this), then when the sound just dies down, hit it twice again, then when the
sound dies again, hit it once more to make the gate open. It may take a few tries to do this, but keep at it. When
you finally do it, save your game and head into Lower Rain.
When you enter Lower Rain, get ready to attack some small-time thugs - it shouldn't be too much of a challenge.
Then head to the bottom left of the screen. Buy some Silver from Albert for 50 gold pieces and then head right

and battle the Werewolf (use weapons instead of magic). After it's dead, head in the right door and deal with the
horde of thugs. Then head left and talk to the boatman. Give him the Cursed Doubloon and he'll take you to
Thaddeus. He will give you the submarine. Walk into it and head out!

The Cathedral of Spires

The underwater cathedral is full of aquatic enemies. There is only a single thing to remember - the chest in the
entryway - you can open it with the Stone Key that you find later in the game. The prize? The Lycanthrope
Necklace!

After a little cutscene where you see what the enemy is planning, you'll find yourself in the cathedral. Some giant
lobsters and sahuagin will attack you as soon as you enter the place. Kill them, ignore the chest, and save your
game. Then exit on the left.

What a cute dragon! It's a shame that it ate all my heroes right after this picture was taken...

Silver Game Guide

The next room holds alot of enemies to kill. Walk south a bit, then kill all of the sahuagin that walk into the room.
Then walk up the stairs with a single hero and get ready to have all three of them defend the floor as about a
dozen enemies swarm you from all directions. Use magic to kill them, and watch out for the sahuagin wizards -
they throw fireballs at you! When the room is secure, pick up the sack of gold, then leave via the bottom. In the
next room you'll encounter a few more enemies, but these are easily beaten. Head south after the battle. The next
hall is swarming with foes. They come in wave after wave at you. Use your magic, then your special moves to kill
them. Timely use of these is essential for surviving the fight. Follow the hall to the end when all your foes are
dead. The next room holds an ambush set upon you by Jag's men. Kill them, then pick up their shields. Open the
chest, take the Long Sword and then save your game. Head into the top door.
There is a dragon in the next room! It is almost always above you, and it is hard to hit. Equip David and Vivienne
with magic and let Jug have the Ice Wand and the Fire Sword to play with. The dragon has one weakness - it's
belly. It constantly moves from left to right, so all you have to do is follow its shadow and attack it from below -
for major damage! If you do it right, you should have no trouble defeating the dragon, gaining a level, and
collecting the Healing Orb. The dragon sometimes poisons you with its acid - a health potion or a healing spell
with stop it from hurting you further. Sometimes the dragon will fall on your party for major damage - just heal
up and continue the battle when that happens. After the battle, save the game and return to the ambush room.

Why Does an Artist Have an Orb?

You now get to explore the swamp and Monastery. Have fun!

Head left and into a room with a few waves of enemies that will attack you. When they are all dead, a treasure
chest appears. Open it up to get the Infernum Extinguere, the amulet needed to get by Fire Tree. Head south and
clear the next room of enemies to get another chest. When the bats come, just let your heroes stand still and they
will take the bats out on their own. Leave the place and go to Fire Tree.
When you get there, extinguish the fires, and Frink will come to tell you that Dr. Buzuki has made better potions.
Visit him, restock your supplies, then return to the Fire Tree and head north. Kill the waves of swamp monsters
and then pick up the treasure (use magic to kill them as quickly as possible). Save your game, then head left.
They'll try the same trick with the sack of gold, but this time, they pull it away three times! Kill them all, then
head left.
Here you'll meet up with another demon - but this one doesn't fly. Magic doesn't work well on him, so just use
your special moves. When he sparkles run away - he summons fireballs to fall down from the sky in a radius
around him. Around twenty or thirty special moves is enough to lay the guy low (remember that each character
can use three different ones). Victory means the Lightning Staff, the Bronze Key and another level! Save your
game then go down and take two rights to get to your next challenge.
There is a chicken leg here. As soon as you approach it, waves of swamp monsters will attack you. Kill then, then
head left. In the next area you will fight some more of the swamp monsters and also get a Long Bow! Yay! Head
north after the battle. You'll meet Cagen here. Send Vivienne back to the Rebel Camp and take him along. Head
up to the Monastery to help them with their poison problem (killing those that are affected is a solution!). Here
you'll fight some deranged monks. Kill them with magic for an easy battle. Head to the top and you'll have
another battle with them in the next area. Continue on your way and exit from the top again. There is another
battle there and exit to the right when done. You'll find a chest there with a Long Sword and some food within.
Head left and then up. Here there are several monks training with their clerical monk master. Attack them from
far with magic, then get for the reinforcements that come from the right. Pick up the scroll of Scythe, then head
left. You'll fight several monks and clerical monks here, then leave by the top. Head to the cave.

The Swamp Demon calls down fireballs to smite David and pals.

You'll meet a monk in the cave that promises to reward you, if you give him one of life's question to ponder upon.
Go back to the Library of Gno and talk to Whittle to get a scroll. Bring it to the monk to get a Potion of
Etherealness, which you immediately drink. You'll get transported to a mansion where you watch Reuben get
vaporized by Silver's magic. Pick up the Wood Key he dropped and you return to the cave. Save your game, then
head two screens to the right of David's House.
Here you'll fight alot of sprites and treants. To the north there is a spring that will heal any two characters - once -
so save it for when you might need it. Instead go to the right. There is a strength potion down the steps, but first
you'll have to fight a horde of sprites. Get the potion, then leave from the top. Reuben's House is there. Use the
Wood Key to get entry, and talk to Chiaro, Reuben's apprentice. He is great at magic and offers to join. Send
Cagen back to the Rebel Camp and go upstairs. The Lightning Orb is in the chest there! That makes four of the

Draco and the Orb of Earth

You'll have to return to Winter to get the next orb. But this time your goal is the heavily guarded palace.

Now it's time to restock on supplies and head to the turrets on Winter Island. Equip Chiaro with the Lightning
Orb, Jug with the Fire Sword or the Lightning Staff and David with fire magic. Head right, then up the stairs, and
into the next area. Here you will encounter some snow leopards, some ice sprites and some guards. Kill them all,
then head north. The same mix of enemies, as well as yetis await you here. Exit on the right. Head to the two
chests and they will disappear revealing some ice sprites and yetis. Kill them, open the real chest, return to the
last area and go up the right stairs. There is a cave there, from which yetis will pour out of. Kill them, then enter
the cave. You'll be outside and near a bridge. walk to the stairs that lead to the top of the bridge and kill the
enemies that try to stop you. Then exit from the right. Now you'll be face to face with several guards. Kill them
all with magic, then head right. Now you'll be at the gates to Glass' Palace. Kill all the guards, save your game,
and open the gates with the Bronze Key. Go into the palace.
You'll see two captains on top of the stairs. They call some guards to deal with you. Kill them all and leave on the
right. The two captains summon more guards to deal with you, then attack you themselves. Pick up the Steel
Shield and the War Hammer and equip them both to Jug. Leave through the left door. Here you'll fight more
guards and some axe-throwers. Kill them all and pick up the Axes. Leave on the right. In the next room kill all the
enemies, then leave on the left. In the following room you will fight against three captains. Take them out with
magic, then leave by the upper hallway. In the hall you'll be attacked from both sides by guards. Use magic and
keep them away! Leave from the top when done. In the next room you will fight several more guards and
axe-throwers. Head left when done with them. Deal with the dozen enemies (including three captains) in the next
room and save your game. Heal and set David's fire magic to level 2, then head left.
Here you will fight Draco! He is a mean dragon that automatically freezes all your heroes, except for David. He
has four different attacks. He shoots a trio of ice bolts at you - just run left or right to avoid them. He calls down a
devastating barrage of icicles - just run through and hope they don't hit you! He shoots out a steady stream of ice
pellets - don't bother avoiding them - they do little damage. He also launches himself in the air and starts firing
from there, at which point you can just run. He is invulnerable while in the air. Use fire magic to hit him when he
sparkles. You deal 100 damage if he is showing his belly, or 50, if he is on the ground. He is a really easy boss.
You may need to use a couple of magic potions, as well as the magic orbs that he leaves behind when you hit him
hard. All your characters gain a level. Open the treasure chest in the corner to get some food. Exit on the top left.
Get the Earth Orb and the Barracks Key from the tower, save your game, then return to the last room and exit on
the bottom right.
Open the two chest here and defeat the mimic (living chest). Pick up the Jeweled Key. Go up, then down, then
right, and then open the top door. Kill the guards that charge you, then enter the room and finish off the rest of
them. Open the two chests to get some food, the Amulet of Seeing and the Ice Key. Equip the Amulet and open
the chest that appears. Exit the room and head right. Head down and then left. Kill all the guard and
reinforcements, and exit at the bottom. Kill all the enemies, then head left and up. Open the door at the bottom of
the stairs, and enter the room. Kill the four guards and open the chest. Take the Scroll of Golem Summoning and
the War Hammer. Return to the Rebel Camp.

The Sewers and the Rat God

To save the Duke you'll have to break into the Prison of Chains. You'll have to go through the sewers to get there.
When you have the Rusted Key, return to the Sewers to get the scroll of Armageddon, the best special move!

At the Rebel Camp, you'll find out that a lot of the rebels were taken captive. Fat Bob tells you to go to the
Rainbow End Tavern and give Mildew, the barkeep, the rebel password. Stock up on supplies (the food trader in
the barracks has more stock), then return to the tavern and talk to the barkeep. Tell him the password and he
brings you to the cellar. Head left into the sewers, where you will have to manually open the floodgates to get
access to Chains. Learn the Falcon special move from the rebel, then save your game. Head into the small
doorway in the lower left.
Kill the three ratmen and pick up the Mace that they drop. Shoot an arrow or spell at the bell above the upper
gate. It opens and several giant rats will charge out at you, and a pair of ratmen archers will start firing on you.
Kill them, then exit from the top. Kill the enemies in the next room and go into the small door in the wooden

structure. Kill the giant rats and spiders in the next room, then head into the right corridor. Kill the ratmen and the
giant spiders in the next room and then exit right. Kill the giant rats in the next room, then go right again. There
more enemies in the next room. Kill them all, then exit through the tunnel on the north wall. Make your way
through the next room's guards and pick up the Valve Spanner. Use the spiral stairs in the bottom right corner to
leave the room. Kill the enemies in the next room and head left to find the sluice gate. Kill the guards, then
operate the thing with the Valve Spanner. The gate opens and you get to hear a few of Silver's plans.

The Rat God is summoned to kill you. How much fun is that? :)

When back in the Sewers, head right and then right again. Kill the many enemies, heal, save you game, and head
into the tunnel in the middle of the room. Make sure that all three heroes have weapons equipped. Then get ready
to fight the Rat God. The Rat God enters at his followers prayers. Send a golem at him if you want and charge in
for some close combat. Use your special moves to wear him down as quickly as possible. Magic doesn't work so
well on him, so just attack him with all three character's special moves. If you need to, eat some food, but you
probably won't need it at all. Victory gets you another level, a Chronicler and the Acid Orb! Save your game and
head north to find yourself in Lower Rain.
Head up, left and kill the guards. Pick up the Crested Shields that they drop and exit on the right. Open the chest
and pick up the Firebow and the fire arrows. You can now buy these in the Barracks. Go back to the last area and

leave through the hole in the wall in the upper right. Walk off the right edge in the next area. Kill the guards here
and exit on the top. In the room with the beds, kill the guards and open the chests. One is a mimic, the other has
food within. Exit on the bottom. The next room also holds enemies for you to kill. Then head north. In the next
area you will fight Khan, one of Silver's lieutenants. He is really easy to kill, even with all of his bodyguards. Kill
them all, pick up the Bastard Sword and the Dragon Shield, and leave on the right. More enemies appear, so kill
them. Head down. Kill the enemies that charge down the stairs and then climb the stairs. You'll meet a small,
green man named Gonch. He turns invisible and fires on you - just send magic to where his outline goes. It is
very easy to do. Grab the Ring of Invisibility that he drops and head back down the stairs. Put the ring on Jug and
open the door and charge in. Kill the guards and enter the north door. Kill the guards at the top of the stairs, heal
and save your game. Then head south into...

Chains - The Prison Where Fuge Dies

The lizardmen guards in the Prison of Chains are really tough, but the smaller ones are wimps. Have fun killing
Fuge!

Kill the two lizardmen and enter the prison. In the next room you will have to fight in a narrow hallway, making
it hard for you to fire at the archers on the balconies. Shoot them down, and kill all the reinforcements that run in
from the bottom. Then leave by the bottom. There are swarms of lizards in the next room, but they are not hard to
kill. The doors on both the left and right of the gate that you entered from go to the balconies with the chests on
them. The little door under the right stairs leads to a room with a single chest. Get all three chests and be warned -
more lizards attack you when you reenter the place after getting a chest. When all that is done head up the right
stairs and to the right edge of the screen. You'll meet Jeremiah in the next room - he throws a key down to the
floor, where it is quickly grabbed by a lizardman. Shoot the lever that is on the other side of the room, and cross
the bridge. Go down the stairs and kill all the lizards that appear, including the archer that appears near the
entrance. Kill the lizardman when it enters and grab the Gold Key. Exit by the door under the stairs. In the next
room you will be plagued by many lizards and several archers from the balconies. Deal with them, talk to the
duke and exit from the top. Kill all the enemies in the next room and pull the lever near what looks to be a toilet.
Stairs will form in the center of the room and many bats will fly into the room. Just use one hero and have him
swipe his weapon back and forth - you'll kill bats in threes and fours. Go down the stairs. Here you will be
swarmed by bats and then lizards. Kill them all and three chests appear, along with four archers. Kill the archers,
open the chest to find some bombs, potions and arrows, then leave to the right. Kill the two archers and the
swarm of lizards that follow, and save your game. When healed, head north.
You'll come across several lizardmen in the next room - kill them and the archers that soon appears. Then some
bats come. Leave through the narrow arch. Go to the chest and kill the two lizards when it disappears. The same
thing happens when you go to it the second time. The third time is the charm and you get six potions. Leave on
the left, then head to the lower right corner using the stairs. You'll fight Fuge in the next room. He kills all your
characters but David and challenges him to a duel. Fuge can wear you down really quickly - so eat and drink
health potions whenever necessary. Use your special moves on him first, and while they are recharging, use
ranged weapons to keep him away. Repeat this two or three times, and he'll change his tactics. He'll switch to
magic and starts to fire lightning bolts at you. Turn yourself invisible with the ring and charge him. Finish him off
to get the Dual Knightly Swords, a level and a key. Save your game and leave via the upper arch.

Fuge just drew his weapons after frying both Chiaro and Jug.

Mow down the pair of lizardmen guards and the pair at the top of the screen. Then head down to the stairs and kill
the bats that come down from the ceiling, Further down you will fight some lizards. Kill them and leave the area
from down there. In the next room you will find the warden and a pair of lizardmen guards. Kill them all and pick
up the Cell Key - get ready to kill some more bats and lizards before being able to leave the room via the door in
the top wall. Give the man in the cell the Teddy Bear and he'll leave to find his mother. Return to the Duke's cell.
The Duke tells you that Glass may have been spying on you the whole time, so the whole group goes to her
palace to confront her. She tells them that she didn't help her father at all and that is indeed a traitor amongst the
rebels. You have to go to Deadgate to learn of his name. Frink comes to tell you that Dr. Buzuki has more
potions. Go to the Library Entrance and open the locked door with the Gold Key. Get the Scroll of Golem
Summoning and learn the Hurricane special move. Gather 300 gold and head to Verdante's Harbour.

To Deadgate - In Search of a Traitor!

Now it's time to go to the land of the dead to find a traitor. Skeletons are nasty, so watch out!

Jonah (you bought the Cursed Doubloon from him) asks for 300 gold to take you to Deadgate. Pay him what he
asks and set sail! When you arrive, you will be set upon by some skeletons. Use your special moves to kill them
and pick up their Dragon Shields when they die (again?). Exit on the bottom right. Kill the skeletons on the next
screen, but try to make it to the one that keeps summoning them (he is purple). Pick up the Enchanted Shield
when all your enemies are dead, and leave by the door on the top. Here you'll fight a skeletal bomber and some
more skeletons. The bomber throws bombs at you that explode on impact. Kill them all, then exit via the top. The
next room is home to another bomber - kill him and his friends, then exit on the right. In the next area there is a
large gong that a skeleton keeps ringing. Kill all the enemies that appear after it is struck, but be careful when
fighting the wraiths (shadows) - they can kill a character, if allowed to gang up. When they are all dead, exit on
the right. Here you'll fight alot of skeletons and wraiths. When they are dead, you will talk to the ghost of John
and find out that William is the traitor. Two more waves of wraiths attack you. Kill them and head right.
Kill all the enemies in the next area, of which there are too many of, then head to the bottom right. Here you will
find a ghost that is being attacked by a pair of wraiths. Kill them and the ghost, Ganitos, will give you the Stone
Key. Head into the shimmering portal. Approach the chest in the next screen and you will be attacked by a lot of
wraiths. Kill them and open the chest. Go into the left portal. Open the chest to get a second Bastard Sword, then
return to the last junction and head to the upper right. After a prolonged battle you will talk to a third ghost. He
talks of having unearthed an orb near Haven, but something terrible happened. He gives you a scroll that will
allow you to get rid of the illusion that hides the entire area from prying eyes. Save your game, then go to the
Airlock (Spires) and open the chest with the Stone Key to get the Lycanthrope Necklace. Now head to the Duke.
You'll tell him who the traitor is, learn the Berserker special move and get the Ring of Magic Resistance from
Edith (Jimmy's mom).

Finally, the First of the Last Two Orbs!

The Plague Lands are near to the Rebel Camp. Here you'll find the Time Orb.

In the camp, head to the top left to find a previously unavailable exit. Through it you will find a bear. Kill it and
head right. One of your heroes will use the scroll to make another set of stairs appear in the lower right. Head to
the bottom left first and get the Long Bow from the chest, then head to the new stairs.
You'll fight your first giant here. Attack it with your weapons, then get ready to do the same to four waves of
three plague monsters. Head right after the battle. You'll face two more waves of the things and two cyclops on
the next screen. Kill them all and open the chest to find two magic orbs. Heal your party and save the game. Then
head to the bottom.
The next screen has several waves of enemies, as well as two chests that appear after a certain number of them
have been defeated. The chests each contain food and magic orbs. Head to the top when ready. Here you'll fight
yet more waves of the infernal plague monsters. Exit at the bottom when they are all dead. As soon as you open
the chest or go for the exit in the lower left, you will be attacked by plagues monsters. Kill them all and head to
the lower left exit. You'll find the Time Orb and Rusted Key in the chest in the next area. Use the Amulet of
Seeing and open the hidden chest. Head up when you are done. Kill the plague monsters, get the strength potion
down the stairs on the right, and then head left. The next are contains a really tough set of enemies! You'll be the
target of many enemies here! Try to kill them as fast as possible, then heal and head right.

The Plague King is a nasty opponent that doesn't stay still. Slow him down, then attack for all you are worth!

You'll find a trio of plague monsters shooting apples out of a tree. Kill them and the Plague King makes an
appearance. He is really annoying! He constantly teleports out of the way when you get close to him and
summons plague monsters to defend him. Use the Berserker special move to hit most of the enemies, and time
magic to slow the Plague King down, so he can't teleport fast enough. He changes his attack plan when you have
killed a dozen of his followers. He then comes in close and calls rocks from the sky to fall on you. Just wail on
him with all your special moves to finish him off, and gain a level. He drops the Iron Key which opens the gate.
In the chest beyond the gate there is a Skull Key and the third Scroll of Golem Summoning. Save your game.
The last special move is in the Sewers. Go to the Sewers, kill all the rats and head right. Then head up twice, to
the bottom right, and then through the locked door in the bottom of the screen. Kill the ratmen, open the chest and
take the scroll of Armageddon. Then kill the spiders and return to the Bone Yard. Open the gate and go through
the portal.

Atro and the Queen of the Dead

Atro is a weird place. You'll see what I mean when you get there!

Equip the Amulet of Seeing and some magic (lightning works well) and kill the three beholders that appear. The
purple beholders teleport around, so pay attention and kill them when they appear. Then exit at the bottom. In the
next room there is a pair of skulls that open their mouths - go into either of them. In the next room you will fight
some more beholders. Use the teleporter (small blue circle on the ground) to get to the purple beholder in the
corner. If it teleports away, station one hero at the top, and use the other two to get it where it appears. Then use
the exit in the upper right corner.

The Queen of the Dead standing with light magic at the ready. Waiting for the party to show up...

The Queen of the Dead is waiting for you in the next room. Use ranged weapons and all spells but fire and time
magic on her. When your spell points are gone, equip weapons and use your special moves on her - some of them
do a hell of a lot of damage. Nonetheless, she won't be able to withstand that much damage. The Queen of the
Dead is really fast and will try to teleport across the screen. She also summons balls of light that explode when

they hit you. Getting hit by them means taking a lot of damage. She has other not-so-lethal attacks too. When you
kill her, you will gain another level. Head through the upper exit and take the right teleporter to get to the Light
Orb. The left teleporter leads to the Chronicler, where you should save your game.

Preparation for Metalon

Silver lives in Metalon. Before you go there, you should stock up on as many supplies as you can, since you
cannot return from there at all. There are many hidden chests across the land which you can open by using the
Amulet of Seeing. I suggest going after them all, and then buying as many potions as you can afford, up to nine of
each. I will explain where they all are - use the map to get to the various landmarks, and then follow my
directions.
First go to the Barracks and then to the right to find the first chest. There are two in the Monastery. Head there
and go right twice to find one, then left and up to find the second. You have to use the Amulet of Seeing for them
to appear, of course. There is another one on the second floor of Reuben's House. Go to the Ice Caves and go one
screen down to find another hidden chest. Then go to the Fire Tree and head up, right and left to find yet another
hidden chest. There are two more in the Library of Gno - one is in the Observatory, while the second is in Dr.
Buzuki's storage room (down, right, right from the Caves). There is another one in the room with the Great Chain.
There are two in the Sewers. The first one is where you got the Armageddon special move (right, up, up, right,
down from the Sewers). Then up, left and left again, to get to the second one. There is another one in Chains - go
up, down, and then into the door under the stairs to find it. There are two more in Rain. Go to Othias' Tower and
go down (not bottom right) twice to find the first, then right, left twice, and down to find the second. The last
chest you can find now is in Deadgate - go to the Bone Yard and head down twice, then up through the teleporter
to find the last chest.
Now buy supplies and save your game at the Chronicler. When ready, return to the Rebel Camp.

Metalon
Metalon is a weird place where you fight really powerful enemies. I don't want to spoil anything else, so just play!

Tell the Duke that you are ready to go and Glass will appear to give you her Glaive and take three of you to
Metalon, from where there is no return. Take any two that you wish. I took David, Jug and Sekune (to use the
Glaive), but feel free to take the characters with which you are most comfortable. I suggest that you completely
recharge after every single screen in Metalon, since every battle is like a boss battle.
When you first appear in Metalon, you will see four doomguards. They are extremely strong and deal huge
amounts of damage. Kill them and more appear. Use your strongest moves, magic and weapons, but try to refrain
from using your potions - you will need them all later. When you have killed them all, heal, save the game then
head down.
The next room also has many doomguards for you to kill. Use the same tactics as before and open the chest when
done. Then go up into a hallway. Doomguards will teleport in and charge you. Archers will stay at the other end
and attack you with arrows. Use Armageddon or the Glaive to get rid of them, then concentrate on the guards.
When done, head right. Have Jug use Armageddon as soon as the doomguards teleport into the room, then kill the
stragglers. Make sure that Armageddon has recharged, before heading up and out of the room. In the next room,
you'll face off against only two doomguards - don't bother using Armageddon. Head down when done. In the next
area there are three guards standing before a set of large doors. Use Armageddon, then charge them and finish
them off. If you take too long, the mouth above the door will shoot fireballs at you. Heal your characters, pick up
the Ane Lectus and save your game before going through the door at the top.
Use the Amulet of Seeing in the next room to find a chest with the awesome Diamond Shield within. Exit on the
bottom right. You'll fight robots and archers on the next screen. Kill them, then go through the arch. Kill all your

enemies, then head through the arch at the top. You'll be attacked by several waves of doomguards, robots and
archers. Use your strongest attacks, then head to the bottom left. More enemies will attack you here. Kill them,
then exit at the bottom and go left. You'll fight several more doomguards. Then go up. Kill the pair of archers and
place the Ane Lectus on the flame to make a teleporter appear. Go through it and exit to the right. Go down and
use the Ane Lectus on the fire. Save your game and return to the teleporter.

The Robot God enters the room - why don't we attack it now? We can't! Stupid book!

You'll end up in a room with the Robot God. He'll attack you with his fists and missiles, if you don't pay
attention. Don't use Armageddon on him (it heals him)! Use all your magic to weaken him at the start of the fight.
Bring out your golem and wail on him with special moves. He is a very easy opponent and you shouldn't have to
heal at all. At the end of the fight you will gain a level. Save your game and leave on the right.
Defeat the guards here and the gates to Silver's Palace open for you!

Silver's Palace
Silver's Palace is an even nastier place than Metalon. The wizards here are incredibly strong and powerful! Just
watch your back and kill Silver!

The first area of Silver's Palace is an entrance hall. Many purple guards will attack you here. Deal with them
using your strongest attacks, then head right. You'll be in a small chamber with four guards. Use Armageddon and
head down the stairs. Kill all the purple guards and mages that enter the room, but go for the mages first. Enter
the central door, using the Half Moon Key. Kill the watchdogs and open the chest to get the Granite Key. Use the
Amulet of Seeing to find the last hidden chest. There is a Diamond Shield within. Take it and leave the room. Go
into the other locked door and talk to Oberius to learn that you have to take out Silver's power source before he
can be killed. Leave the room and head right.

Silver is in the lower right, his source of power at the top, and his golem is next to Jug the werewolf!

In the following hallway you will be attacked by purple soldiers and mages from both sides. Kill them all and
heal before leaving the room on the right. The door leading out of this room is sealed. Break the four canisters

Silver Game Guide

near the other doors to open chambers with potions or foes. Kill the foes, get the potions and go through the now
unsealed door. The next chamber is so large that it is very easy to lose sight of your heroes. Use long range
attacks against your enemies, of which there seems to be no end of! When you have killed them, open the chests
and leave through the top exit. Kill both waves of enemies in the next room and exit on the right. You get to deal
with the remnants of Silver's guards in the next room. Kill the purple guards, and then go after the mages with
magic and ranged weapons. Heal, charge all your abilities and get all your spell points back before saving your
game. Set all your magic to level 2 or 3 (if you have both Chiaro and Cagen, put them all to three) and go up.
And find Silver! At long last you get to kill the guy! Believe it or not, Silver doesn't fight you himself - he
summons a golem to attack you (and keeps doing so when you kill his old one!). This golem is really stupid - it
always attacks the last person that attacked it. This includes your golem... When it dies it leaves behind a pair of
magic orbs, which you will really need. Don't worry about using all your potions - this is the last battle in which
you can use them. Your main target is not the golem - it is the sphere that is hanging in the air. Use one person (or
golem) to keep the golem busy and your other two heroes should attack the sphere in turn. You have to destroy it
eight times - once with each orb that you picked up. Start with fire magic, then ice, life, lightning, earth, acid,
time and light, or the order in which you received them. Watch Silver's life decrease and when it heals again you
know it is time to switch magic types. Just make sure all three of your heroes stay alive and the fight should be a
breeze! You gain a level and then watch as David merges with Silver's Nemesis. He is then challenged by
Apocalypse and given a chance to save.

The Final Battle - Apocalypse

It is David against Apocalypse with Nemesis' sword, armor and shield (which doesn't break!). Furthermore, he
can only use the Falcon special move and can't access the ring menu, so no healing for you!
The trick to winning this fight is to know when to attack, when to hide behind your shield, and when to just run.
Apocalypse has some definite attack patterns, so it is easy to plan your tactics. He always comes to you on the
ground first. If you can, use the Falcon on him as soon as he hits the ground, then hide behind your shield right
away and block his strikes. Keep your mouse pointer in the opposite direction (or for those Dreamcast players,
run in the opposite direction) as soon as he leaps into the air, because he sometimes smashes the ground and you
for a fair bit of damage.
Once he is in the air and seems to be staying there, keep RUNNING. He fires four or five lightning bolts that
cause major damage! They won't hit you if you keep moving! So do just that and you won't take the 400-500
damage per strike! He then flies into the distance and fires two fireballs at you. Block them with your shield to
deflect them back at him, for at least some damage. When he roars, run to the opposite side of the screen to avoid
the eruptions. He calls forth three eruptions, so keep on your toes. You will probably still get hit most of the time,
but don't worry about it. After this barrage, he will return to the ground and the whole process begins anew.
When he runs out of life, he doesn't die - he starts firing at you like crazy. Just block a single one of his fireballs
and he'll explode when it hits him and falls in the lava!
Congratulations! You have now finished the great game known as Silver!

Shields
Shields are important to your survival, especially in the final battle of the game. Their use is explained in the
combat section of the guide. Shields suffer from wear and tear. Every strike that they block is taken from their
defense rating, until it reaches zero, at which point it is irrevocably lost. You find around three shields of each
type during the game, except for the Diamond Shield, of which there are only two.

Wooden Shield
Description: Very weak shield for the beginning of the game. Breaks easily. Defense +40.
Location: Soldiers in Verdante sometimes drop these shields.

Ranged Weapons
Ranged weapons are both a blessing and a curse. They are either too weak to deal with the stronger enemies or
they run out of ammo too quickly. This makes them expensive to use, and money is always tight. In addition,
magic does more damage, so you'll yourself putting your ranged weapons away when you get some. This all
changes when you receive the awesome Glaive towards the end of the game. It has no drawbacks and in the right
hands it is an extremely powerful weapon.

Catapult
Description: A small slingshot. Does little to no damage, but has unlimited ammo. Stupid name though.
Location: A red imp in the Library of Gno drops it.

Throwing Knives
Description: Knives that can be thrown as far as a bow shoots. Weird.
Location: Captains throw these in the streets of Rain. Get them on your first visit. Up to 50 can be held. More
can be bought from the armsdealer in the Barracks.

Short Bow
Description: Fires arrows with incredible strength - dealing more damage than swords!
Location: Sekune begins play with this weapon. Up to 105 arrows may be held. More can be bought from the
armsdealer in the Barracks.

Long Bow
Description: Much more powerful than the Short Bow, with which it shares ammo.
Location: Found in the swamp, while on your way to the monastery. A second one is found near the Dig later in
the game. More arrows can be bought in the Barracks. Up to 105 can be held at a time.

Axe
Description: Small throwing axes that deal a lot of damage.
Location: Pick these up in the Glass Palace for the first time. Up to 40 can be held at a time. More can be bought
from the armsdealer in the Barracks.

Bomb
Description: Small explosives that blow on impact.
Location: Found in the prison of Chains. Several skeletons in Deadgate hurl these. You can't buy replacement
bombs, you can only find them. You can carry 30 of them.

Firebow
Description: Fires arrows that burst into flame on impact.
Location: Found near Thaddeus' Tower after you have opened the Sluice Gate in the sewers. You can buy arrows
in the Barracks. Up to 99 can be held at a time.

Glaive
Description: Awesome weapon that flies through the air and strikes three times before returning to the thrower.

Silver Game Guide

Magical Items
Magical items are powerful tools for you to use during your adventure. One is bought, while the rest have to be
earned or found over the course of your adventure. All magical items work in the same way. You equip them
from the ring menu and the more they are in use, the more power that is drained from them. Over the course of
time they recharge and you can use them again. Some items like the Ice Wand and Fire Sword can be used even
when not full, while other items like the Scroll of Golem Summoning can only be used when fully recharged.

Ice Wand
Description: Shoots pellets of ice, if charged. Deals more damage on fire enemies. Useful for long range battles.
