A MESSAGE FROM FNH USA

Dear Clients and Friends,

The history of gunsmithing in Belgium goes back more than 500 years. Born from this legacy, Fabrique Nationale’s tradition
has always been to provide the finest, most reliable small arms in the world to our customers. Today FN is proud to serve as
the supplier of choice to the U.S. Military and its Allied nations.

In the field of defense, FN is synonymous with innovation and reliability. Today 70% of the small arms used by U.S. Forces
around the globe are made by FN, including the FN 303, M16, M240, M249, MK 46, MK 48, and the devastating M3M
(military designation: GAU-21).

2008 will be another exciting and fast-paced year for FN. We will begin Full Rate Production of USSOCOM’s new family of
assault rifles, commonly known as the SCAR. The FN SCAR weapons (military designation: MK 16, MK 17 and MK 13) are
revolutionary in design and exceptional in performance. One of the most unique aspects of these new weapons is that they Electronic sights, lights and laser modules shown not included.
were envisioned, tested, and chosen by the USSOCOM operators themselves. They are offered in two different calibers, each
with three interchangeable barrel lengths to allow these rifles to be quickly tailored to the demands of any mission, all while
maintaining FN’s tradition of absolute dependability when and where it matters most. Emerging from USSOCOM’s SCAR program, the MK 16, MK 17 and MK 13 weapons system is highly modular and intended to be.
easily adaptable to future upgrades and enhanced ammunition designs. They are also built with an eye toward the economic.
Descending from the legendary Browning .50 caliber – widely considered the world’s ultimate heavy machine gun – the realities and small logistic footprint requirements of today’s highly mobile military. Overall life cycle costs are reduced via.
FN M2HB Quick Change Barrel (QCB) and the GAU-21 deliver greater versatility and expanded field capabilities with their
features like a chrome-lined steel barrel with a service life of 15,000+ rounds while maintaining exceptional accuracy to
innovative designs. The M2HB QCB maintains fixed headspace and timing, allowing one soldier to change a barrel in a
matter of seconds. The GAU-21 uses an open-bolt design that helps prevent cook-offs, and a dual buffer system that is give added years of dependable service while reducing maintenance downtime. Both the MK 16 and MK 17 rifles break down

unit armorer level. The compact design of the MK 16 and MK 17 makes them ideal in the Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) role
Part of our success at FN has been our ability to anticipate the needs of our military customers and quickly deliver the tools
necessary to accomplish their mission. We continue to improve upon our FNP line of polymer frame handguns as well as the for air and vehicle crews, transportation and support troops and senior officer/VIP protective details.

From concept to reality, the new MK 16 exceeds real world expectations. Chosen by the U.S. Special Operations Command (USS0COM) as its next generation modular
assault rifle, the MK 16 is a 21st century weapon ideal for operations in today’s challenging tactical environment. The MK 16 is a selective-fire 5.56x45mm NATO rifle with

MK 16 both full and semi-automatic capability using a short stroke gas piston system. Three interchangeable barrels can be switched by the individual operator in just minutes
for CQC, tactical and precision fire roles. Completely ambidextrous with a fully free-floating barrel, multiple integral MIL-STD 1913 mounting rails and a telescoping,
folding stock with adjustable cheekpiece, the MK 16 represents the most innovative and adaptable individual combat rifle ever conceived. The highly ergonomic design
commonality of the MK 16 and MK 17 allow for enhanced muscle memory that provides operators a cross-training benefit with both platforms. These rifles are designed
for easy operator and armorer level maintenance, keeping those services at the lowest possible echelon to reduce life-cycle costs and improve operational readiness.

The MK 17 is the second part of the FN SCAR family of weapons. A selective-fire semi-auto and full-auto 7.62x51mm NATO rifle using a short stroke gas

MK 17 piston, the MK 17 also offers three interchangeable barrels that can be switched by the individual operator in just minutes for CQC, tactical and precision fire
roles. Controllability is a hallmark of the MK 17, firing controlled pairs easily even in full-auto mode. Like the MK 16, the MK 17 remains a completely
ambidextrous rifle design with a fully free-floating barrel, multiple integral MIL-STD 1913 mounting rails and a telescoping, folding buttstock with adjustable
cheekpiece. All MK 16 and MK 17 rifles offer 98% parts commonality within the same caliber and 82% parts commonality between rifles of different calibers,
thus simplifying maintenance, armorer training and logistic support requirements.

The MK 13 is the third part of the USSOCOM SCAR weapon system. A single-shot pump-action weapon with rotating locking breech, the MK 13 is an enhanced

MK 13 grenade launcher module that accepts all NATO-standard 40x46mm low velocity ammunition. It also has the inherent strength and action length to handle the
enhanced medium velocity grenades with greater range and larger payloads that are now in development. Along with the multiple-strike trigger feature, a
chambered defective round can be discarded by removing the entire barrel assembly and replacing it with a new barrel, allowing the operator to continue with .
the mission. The MK 13 may be quickly mounted underneath either the MK 16 or MK 17, or it may be configured as a stand-alone launcher with a telescoping
buttstock. Like these two new FN rifles, it is a completely ambidextrous design and may be fitted with either a traditional leaf sight or mechanical quadrant sight.
