Hydrapulper Gearbox

Any idea’s
This is the reading taken on the input shaft of this gearbox.This is a large
gearbox weighing approx 5 tonnes.
Running speed is 1491 rpm
1st gear has 23 teeth giving GMF of 34293 cpm’s
2nd gear has 58 teeth giving a running speed for intermediate shaft of 591 rpm
Gear to output shaft has 17 teeth giving GMF of 10047
Output gear has 78 teeth giving output speed of 128 rpm.
We are experiencing noise from this gearbox and we are getting the above high
GMF readings as you can see with families of side bands. From these readings we are
suspecting a worn input pinion.Why is the GMF showing at 41775 cpm’s instead of
34293 cpm’s?. Any ideas coz we don’t know. The rest of the gearbox and motor looks
ok.
