Abstract
Executive presence can be developed. You must have a high level of self-confidence and expect
to deal with unpredictable situations that involve executive leadership responsibilities. This
article describes the six traits that any person with gravity possesses, all of which apply to both
male and female executives. The article describes the executive presence depending on the
industry. In addition, you must also observe your own individual appearance, because, the
executive presence is "the ability to project trust, balance under pressure and decision

very important for the second, the concept of executive presence is not the same as the
administration.
•Warren Bennis, writing about the executive presence, to exaggerate the difference, has
said that most organizations are outdated and not managed. A person can be an
effective administrator (good planner and administrator), fair and organized, but lacks
the executive presence skills to motivate. Other people can be an effective executive
presence, with the ability to unleash enthusiasm and devotion, but lack the management
skills to channel the energy they unleash on others.
•Faced with the challenges of the dynamic commitment of the current world of
organizations, many of them appreciate more the managers who also have an executive
presence.
•Every great leader has something in common. They have gravitas, that is, they have
an executive weight, a presence that people respect and want to follow. Yes, they also
need to have intellectual abilities and competencies. But without gravitas, executives
can fight to lead. As says a friend of mine, a leader without followers is someone
who walks. So how does one develop gravitas or teach others how to improve theirs?
There are six traits that any person with gravitas possesses, all of which apply to both
male and female executives.

may be easier for men than for women, who may be forced to build a new wardrobe that
shows seriousness without losing their femininity.
• The third factor to gravitas is that executives need being a presence pain
relieving when they enter a room; especially if things go wrong. The key is for the
leader to channel energy and emotions into the room and have everyone focus on finding
a solution. An executive with gravitas can help inspire everyone to put aside their
worries and be inspired to work together on their path to victory.
• The four of them factors. If you want to build executive gravitas, then you also
need Develop your ability to speak. People follow executives who have strong public
speaking skills and a diverse vocabulary. Great leaders do not swear either, because
people tend to follow leaders who use clean and positive language. They should not be
too academic when they talk about everyone's head. Rather, they use the best words to
describe a situation more accurately. Especially in front of a crowd of people. Great
leader train to speak well in public.
• A fifth aspect of speaking-related gravitas is that great leaders, both men and women,
also learn how drop your voice. They also learn the power of speaking at a
reasonable pace. That is not too fast or slow.
• A sixth aspect is nonverbal to which most people know pay attention is eye contact, but
that is only one of the factors related to body language that can mean the difference
between crashing and burning and be a resounding success.
I know it may seem strange that all these tips seem to involve the image of a leader and how it
might seem to others. But like it or not, a big part of the leadership in how
you present yourself. If it is presented incorrectly, it can be difficult to get people to follow
it. Clearly, their content, work ethic and intellect are critical, but these are table topics to
become an executive leadership.
Thus, if you want to develop gravitas as a leader, think about focusing on such traits as
emotional control, maintaining a calm presence, speaking in a deep, controlled voice and

dressing as if it were a serious matter. If you can do those six things, you will be on the way
to developing your own gravitas.
As with any other skill, some people are naturally more gifted in executive presence than
others. However, everyone can improve their executive presence with focus and
practice. And, perhaps most importantly, the higher it becomes, the more executive presence
is required, so everyone must continually focus on improving their executive presence.
Here are several steps to build, improve and depend on and are applicable to the industry.
1. Have a vision and articulate it well. One of the most important parts of inspiring
trust is having a compelling vision, a well-conceived notion of what you are working
to achieve. It should be appropriate in scale for your seniority level, and you should be
able to communicate your vision impeccably under any circumstance, be it a three
minute elevator ride with a senior executive, an outside location with your team or a
dinner with interested parties important A robust and well-articulated vision is,
ultimately, the way you leave your mark: it distinguishes you and is a powerful tool to
inspire confidence.
2. Understand how others experience you. People with excellent executive presence
understand very well how they are perceived by others. This is important because, as
it rises to higher levels and its scope of control expands, it depends more and more on
others for its effectiveness. And, before accessing the most important opportunities,
decision makers need to have the confidence to be able to handle themselves well in all
environments. Understand how others
perceive you. Check with mentors and
get feedback from supervisors, peers and
subordinates. Be sure to include people
who see you in a variety of situations.

communication and invest time in developing communication skills. You must be an
excellent communicator in all media (in person, in writing or virtually) and in every
situation.
4. Become an excellent listener. The most important communication skills are his
ability to listen. People with great executive presence are exceptional listeners. They
engage with all their attention, ask great questions and use listening as a way
of Involve others and explore important ideas. And there is another benefit: the
ability to listen effectively demonstrates self-confidence, another critical part of
executive presence.
6. Learn to operate effectively under stress. How do you behave when there is a
lot at stake? Do you ever seem rushed, nervous or overwhelmed? Do you lose
patience, or do you have a reputation for being temperamental? Many people make
the mistake of thinking that looking frantically busy indicates their value to the
organization. Not so, it just indicates that they are frantically busy, and maybe they
cannot be entrusted with more responsibilities. No one wants to see a leader who is
overwhelmed. People with good executive presence present themselves as
calm, balanced, composed, well prepared and in control always. That inspires
confidence that they are ready to take on even more.
7. Make sure your appearance is not a distraction. Visual appearance makes a first
impression, and first impressions, whether conscious or subconscious, are
powerful. You want to make sure that your first impression inspires confidence. That
does not mean trying to look like a fashion model. Rather, make sure that your
appearance is appropriate to the environment and culture of the company, and that it is
consistent with others at the level to which you aspire. Pay attention to your clothing,
6
dress and grooming options, and make sure there is nothing in your appearance that
distracts you from the impression you want to leave.
